It
took some time until the Southern Rock act Black
Stone Cherry from beautiful Edmonton, Kentucky came back to Europe
after their last visit in Bülach Switzerland, where they kicked ass. It
was great, that one single show in Switzerland at the Dynamo in Zurich
City, Switzerland was announced. The event, presented by Starclick
Entertainment AG was sold out within a very short time. The
doors opened on 7:00 PM and some guys break danced on the first floor. You
arrived in the big saloon on the second story after climbin’ stairs.
Actually, the Swiss act T.B.A. should
have opened as special guest on 8:00 PM. But
they could start with “Happyland” after a delay of 15 minutes. Singer
and Guitar player Jenna Holic convinced with her voice and rockin’
guitar tunes and challenged guitar player Sandro with guitar duels. Bass
player Marcello convinced with a dance chorography. The audience got
rocked for 30 minutes and standing ovations followed for the great

There
was a short break for set changes and Hip Hop and R’n’B music blew out
the speakers for reasons which couldn’t be explained. It didn’t fit to
this event, because there’s got to be Rock music that blows out of the
speakers at a Rock show and no commercial nonsense. The
audience consisting of Punks, Metal heads and Rock fans went totally nuts
after the lights put out when Black
Stone Cherry entered the stage on 9:30 PM. They didn’t lose time and
started with “Change”. The Metal heads and Rock fans celebrated them
and the punks started moshpits and you could feel the party vibe. After
the smoother tracks “Things My Father Said” and “Won’t Let Go”
on acoustic guitars, drummer John Fred Young played a drum solo and a
short “Sweet Home Alabama” medley had it’s place either. You
noticed that Singer and guitar player Chris Robertson, Singer and guitar
player Ben Wells, Bass player and Singer Jon Lawhon had a lot of fun.
Chris Robertson and his boys did a crazy Rock’n’Roll show for 75
minutes with much passion and an incomparable kick ass attitude. Setlist

Als
Black Stone Cherry bei ihrem
letzten Abstecher in die Schweiz nach Bülach kamen und live überzeugten,
verging einige Zeit bis die US-Southern Rocker aus dem beschaulichen
Edmonton, Kentucky nach Europa zurückkehrten. Umso erfreulicher war die
Tatsache, dass ein einziges Schweizer Konzert im Jugendkulturhaus Dynamo
in der Stadt Zürich angekündigt wurde. Innert kürzester Zeit war der
von Starclick Entertainment AG präsentierte Event ausverkauft. Um
19 Uhr öffneten sich die Türen des Dynamos, wo im Erdgeschoss ein paar
Leute Breakdance vollführten. Nach einem kurzen Treppenaufstieg erreichte
man im 2. Stock den grossen Saal. Eigentlich
hätten die Schweizer T.B.A.
als Special Guest um 20 Uhr eröffnen sollen. Aufgrund einer kleinen Verzögerung
durften sie 15 Minuten später mit „Happyland“ beginnen. Obwohl die
Band nicht typisch rockig aussah, gingen sie wie Profis an die Sache ran.
Sängerin und Gitarristin Jenna Holic überzeugte mit ihrer Stimme und
rockigen Gitarrenriffs und lieferte sich mit Gitarrist Sandro
Gitarrenduelle, während Bassist Marcelo mit Tanzeinlagen glänzte. 30
Minuten lang wurde das Publikum mit Rock angeheizt und für den tollen
Auftritt folgte der verdiente Applaus. Setlist T.B.A. Happyland On

Eine kurze Pause folgte für den Bühnenumbau und aus noch unerklärlichen Gründen erklang im Hintergrund HipHop und R’n’B. Das passte überhaupt nicht, denn an einem Rockevent sollte Gitarren-Musik aus den Boxen dröhnen und kein Kommerz Firlefanz. Als
um 21:30 Uhr dann die Lichter ausgingen und Black
Stone Cherry die Bühne betraten, flippte das Publikum bestehend aus
Punks, Metaller und Rockfans total aus. Ohne viel Zeit zu verlieren,
folgte mit „Change“ der erste Song. Die Metaller und Rocker feierten
und die Punks sorgten für einen Moshpit in der Menge und es herrschte
eine ausgelassene Stimmung. Neben
den ruhigeren Nummern „Things My Father Said“ und „Won’t Let Go“
auf Akkustik Gitarren folgte
auch ein Schlagzeugsolo von Drummer John Fred Young und ein kurzes
„Sweet Home Alabama“ Medley hatte ebenfalls seinen Platz. Sänger und
Gitarrist Chris Robertson, aber auch Sänger und Gitarrist Ben Wells,
Bassist und Sänger Jon Lawhon merkte man an, dass sie viel Spass hatten.
75 Minuten lang boten Chris Robertson & Co eine crazy Rock’n’Roll
Show mit viel Gefühl und einer Kick Ass Attitüde, die ihresgleichen
sucht. Setlist

È
passato un po` di tempo da quando i Black
Stone Cherry, southern rocker provenienti da Edmont, Kentucky –
Stati Uniti, hanno dato il loro ultimo concerto a Bülach, con grande
successo. E il fatto che ci fosse anche questa volta un concerto, al
Jugendkulturhaus Dynamo di Zurigo, rese la situazione molto, ma molto
piacevole. In breve tempo furono venduti tutti i biglietti di concerto
messi a disposizione da Starclick Entertainment AG. Alle
19:00 si aprirono le porte del Dynamo, dove della gente stava ancora
praticando break dance. Salendo un paio di scale, raggiungendo il
secondo piano, si entra nella grande sala concerto. Era
il compito di T.B.A.
l’apertura come special guest per le 20 :00. A causa di un
piccolo ritardo incominciarono 15 minuti piu tardi, con « Happy
Land ». Anche se l’image della band non è tipica del rock, il
loro livello musicale ne era piu che mai, scattando come un maestro
davanti alla classe. La cantante e
chitarrista Jenna Holic diede il suo meglio, convincendo con la sua voce
e con suoni di rock puro, "duellando" con il secondo
chitarrista Sandro, avendo il bassista nel retro che brillava con dei
movimenti da sballo. Per trenta minuti il publico ricevette una dose di
rock da riscaldamento (muscolare) e la band si guadagnò un`ovazione

Dopo
è seguita una breve pausa per un piccolo cambiamento del palco scena e,
per motivi inspiegabili, della musica hip hop e r’n’b è
stata fatta risuonare dagli altoparlanti come sottofondo. Ciò non si è
dimostrato adatto perché in un evento Rock dovrebbe
risuonare dagli speakers della musica Rock e non musica
"commerciale". Alle
21:00 le luci si abbassarono, e fu l’entrata in scena
di Black Stone Cherry,
che mise il publico, misto di punk, metallari e rocker, a sprigionare
urla di euforia. Senza
perdere troppo tempo incominciarono con „Change“ la prima canzone.
Con i metallari che assieme rocker fecero festa, mentre erano i punk che
si dedicavano al pogo, alla creazione del moshpit. Tutto assieme un`atmosfera
briosa. Accanto
alle canzoni più calme come „Things my Father said“ e „Wont let
go“ suonate su chitarra acustica, c`erano anche dei soli di batteria,
sprigionati da John Fred Young, e poi anche un breve „Sweet Home
Alabama“. Il cantante e chitarrista Chris Robertson, così come il
vocalist e chitarrista Ben Wells, il bassista John Lawan si sono
divertiti molto. Chris Robertson e i suoi "ragazzi" hanno
offerto un concerto rock’n’roll durato 75 minuti pieno
di sentimento e di un`incomparabile attitudine
"kick-ass". Setlist
