The potential to become a big name.

Blus is a groovy Electro Progressive Metal Rock Act hailing from Lörrach, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. This band was founded in 1999 by singer Bernd Jerzembeck and guitar player Jan Bohmann.

Now you might ask yourself how groovy Electro Progressive Metal Rock sounds. Well, I try to explain it in a few words: You take a pinch of P.O.D and Meshuggah, bring up some Sepultura elements and if you add vocals influenced by Korn singer Jonathan Davis and then you understand how Electro Progressive Metal Rock sounds.

Their self titled own production is the first acoustic output of the Lörracher and convinces by the professional appearance right from the start. Christoph Brandes, a known producer, who already worked with bands like Atritas, Necrophagist and many more, was hired for the mix and mastering.  

That’s also a reason why the songs “Prisma”, “Heresy” and “Behind the Sun” are powerful. Especially the vocals of singer Bernd Jerzembeck stick in my ear, who reminds me a little bit of singer Jonathan Davis. But he avoids freakin’ out.

But the guitars of Jan Bohmann and Wilhelmus Bevensee (who supports Bernd with background vocals and cares about the Electronic influence) sound great either. What I really appreciate is that Christoph Brandes made the drums sound real, because a lot of bands got a fucked up drum sound.

Finally, I have to add that I am lookin’ forward to further acoustic outputs and if you get the chance to see Blus live on stage and then you should get up your ass and check ‘em out! They got the potential to become a big name!

Hier ist das Potential zum Mega Act vorhanden!

Blus ist eine groovige Electro Progressive Metal Rock Band aus Lörrach, Baden-Württemberg. Deutschland. Ins Leben gerufen wurde die Band im Jahre 1999 durch Sänger Bernd Jerzembeck und Gitarrist Jan Bohmann.

Nun werdet ihr euch sicher fragen was man sich unter groovigem Electro Progressive Metal Rock vorstellt?

Ich erkläre das mal so: Man nehme eine Brise P.O.D und Meshuggah, packt ein paar Sepultura Elemente drauf und wenn dann noch Gesang à la Jonathan Davis hinzugefügt wird, klingt das Ganze ungefähr nach obenerwähnter Stilrichtung.

Die mir vorliegende, selbstbetitelte EP ist das erste akustische Lebenszeichen der Lörracher und überzeugt alleine schon durch die professionelle Aufmachung. Für den Mix und das Mastering konnte Christoph Brandes verpflichtet werden, der schon mit Bands wie Atritas, Necrophagist u.v.m zusammengearbeitet hatte.

Das ist auch ein Grund weshalb die drei Songs „Prisma“, „Heresy“ und „Behind The Sun“ so kraftvoll rüberkommen. Speziell im Ohr haften bleibt der Gesang von Bernd Jerzembeck, der stimmlich an Korn Frontmann Jonathan Davis erinnert ohne jedoch im diesselben psychotischen Gefilde abzudriften.

Aber auch die Gitarren von Jan Bohmann und Allrounder Wilhelmus Bevensee (der unterstützt den Bernd mit Background Gesang und sorgt für die Elektroeinschübe) klingen richtig fett. Was ich Herrn Brandes hoch anrechne ist, dass er es fertig gebracht hatte, das Schlagzeug richtig homogen klingen zu lassen und nicht dumpf wie es bei vielen anderen Bands der Fall ist.

Abschliessend bleibt noch zu sagen, dass ich mich auf weitere akustische Leckerbissen freue. Falls ihr die Chance habt Blus live zu sehen, solltet ihr euch das nicht entgehen lassen! Hier ist das Potential zum Mega Act vorhanden!

Blus est un groupe allemand Electro Métal Progressif Rock de Lörrach, Baden-Wurtemberg. Le group à été fondé 1999 par le chanteur Bernd Jerzembeck et guitariste Jan Bohmann.

Vous vous demandez peut-être comment la musique Electro Métal Progressif Rock semble?

Je vous explique la chose comme suit : si vous prenez une pincée de P.O.D et Meshuggah, en plus quelques éléments du Sepultura accompagné du chant influencée de Jonathan Davis, le chanteur du Korn cela ressemblé au style mentionné ci dessus.

La présente production propre represente un signe de vie acoustique du groupe de Lörrach et nous convint par leur apparence professionnelle.

Christoph Brandes a pu pris sous contrat  pour le mix et mastering. Il à déjà travaillé pour Atritas, Necrophagist et de nombreux autres.

Raison pour que les chansons “Prisma”; “Heresy”, “Behind the Sun” sont ressenti si puissant. Particulièrement, le chant de Bernd Jerzembeck se fixe dans mes oreilles, parce qu’ il me rappelle au chanteur Jonathan Davis, toutefois, sans dériver dans le domaine psychotique même.

Mais aussi les guitares de Jan Bohmann et Wilhelmus Bevensee (qui assiste Bernd par le chant au fond et des éléments électriques) ne sonnent pas trop puissant.

Ce que j’apprécie le plus c’est  le travail du Christoph Brandes avec les tambours qu’il a réussi de les faire sonner authentique et homogèn e et ne pas faible comme c’est le cas chez de nombreuse autres bandes.  

Finalement il faut mentionner que je me réjouis aux prochaines délicatesses.  Si vous avez la chance de pouvior voir Blus en direct sur scène il faut surtout pas le manquer. Ici le potentiel est donné d’acquérir la gloire d’un soi dit Mega Act.
