Young Basel Metalcore Band. 

Darrow formaly known as The War We Lost is a Metalcore Band from Basel, Swiss Canton of Basel-Stadt, Switzerland. The band was founded in 2009 and played various shows in the area of Basel and other Swiss areas. They issued a professional demo CD with „Darrow“ with the songs „A Million Scars“, „Completion“ and „Liberation“ in 2011. This demo CD was produced by Markus Gumball (Doro, Guano Apes, All Ends, Tamoto) at Cubeaudio Studio in Göttingen, Germany. The mastering was done at Sterling Sound Studio in New York City, NY, USA.

At „Darrow“ they celebrate Metalcore with influences of August Burns Red, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Heaven Shall Burn, Caliban and Misery Signals. The powerful production is responsible why the music is wholly effective.

Clean vocal parts of singer Stefan Flückiger alternate with catchy guitar tunes of Luca Caraci and Joachim Seiffert. It’s a pleasure to listen this demo CD. Even when they not re-invent the wheel the inhabitants of Basel show that the city of Basel has more to offer than electronic dance music, Fasnacht, Basel Tattoo, FC Basel and Basler Läckerli.

The young Basel Metalcore Band will present the debut album „Generation of Builders“ soon and I’m really excited.

Darrow einst auch bekannt als The War We Lost ist eine junge Metalcore Band aus Basel, Kanton Basel-Stadt, Schweiz. Gegründet wurde sie 2009 und diverse Konzerte in der Region Basel und in anderen Schweizer Gegenden folgten. Mit der selbstbetitelten „Darrow“ EP veröffentlichten die Basler 2011 eine professionelle Demo-CD auf der sich die Lieder „A Million Scars“, „Completion“ und „Liberation“ befinden. Produziert wurde die EP von Markus Gumball (Doro, Guano Apes, All Ends, Tamoto) im Cubeaudio Studio in Göttingen, Deutschland. Gemastert wurde die EP im Sterling Sound Studio in New York City, NY, USA.

Auf der vorliegenden EP zelebriert man Metalcore mit Einflüssen von August Burns Red, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Heaven Shall Burn, Caliban und Misery Signals. Die druckvolle Produktion sorgt dafür, dass sich die Musik vollends entfalten kann.

Cleane Gesangparts von Frontmann Stefan Flückiger wechseln sich ab mit eingängigen Gitarrenriffs von der Gitarrenfraktion Luca Caraci und Joachim Seiffert. Es ist ein Genuss diese EP zu hören. Auch wenn sie das Rad nicht neu erfinden, zeigen die Basler auf dieser EP, dass die Stadt Basel mehr zu bieten hat als elektronische Tanzmusik, Fasnacht, Basel Tattoo, FC Basel und Basler Läckerli.

Bald wird uns mit „Generation of Builders“ das Debütalbum der jungen Basler Metalcore Band präsentiert und auf dieses Werk bin ich sehr gespannt.
