are always a highlight. Wherever they perform, the audience kicks ass.
Hatebreed
are always a highlight. Wherever they perform, the audience kicks ass. It
doesn’t matter if it’s a small club show or an appearance at a
festival. Last time I saw them performin’ at the Sommercasino venue. All
the better, Hatebreed return
to the Metaltemple Z7 for a show. As
a special guest, no one less than Soulfly
performed.
Actually,
Soulfly should’ve started
to perform at 8 PM. However, the audience had to wait about 40 minutes
for inexplicable reasons until the lights went out and singer Max
Cavalera entered the stage. He and his band members Marco Rizzo (Lead
Guitar), Tony Campos (Bass) and Max’s son Zyon Cavalera (Drums) were
welcomed with a lot of applause. Even the microphone covered with
shotgun ammo awoke curiosity. The show started with „Bloodshed“
after an intro. The audience liked the performance and freaked out.
Soulfly’s music is electrifyin’ and you’ve got no other choice
than to join the show. That led to multiple circle pits, which Max
Cavalera demanded. The spectators in the front row didn’t notice
anythin’ unless spectators got pushed from the back to the front. Max
Cavalera was so happy about the circle pits and smiled to the
metalheads. Besides hits like „Prophecy“, „Back to the
Primitive“ and „Seek’N’Strike“, there was also was space for
old school Sepultura songs. You can do nothin‘ wrong with songs like
„Refuse Resist“, „Arise“, „Dead Embryonic Cells“ or
the kick ass song „Roots Bloody Roots. “
The
fans admire and love these songs and applauded Max Cavalera. Max brother
Igor Cavalera and his stepson Richie Cavalera entered the stage in order
to perform „Revengeance“ with their dad. Meanwhile, Max took his off
jacket and wore a shirt sporting „Emperors Return“, an album by
legendary Swiss Metal band Celtic Frost. The
fans liked it a lot. „Eye For An Eye“ marked the end of a great
performance. The Soulfly band
members said goodbye to the enthusiastic audience after 55 minutes.

the stage was prepared for Hatebreed.
The long awaited headliner entered the stage after the Black Sabbath
classic „Paranoid“. Singer
Jamey Jasta showed a good vocal performance and spread joy that night.
Older kick ass tracks like „Perseverance“, „Facing What Consums
You, „This Is Now“, „Live For This“ and „Straight To Your
Face“ got played besides current songs of „Divinity of Purpose“.
Jamey Jasta was very impressed when the spectators shouted the words
„Live For This“ while he performed the song „Live For This“.
Circle Pits occured again and this time they were heavier than the ones
at Soulfly. The sympathy and
enthusiasm by the fans lead to Jamey Jasta’s statement „This is the
best monday night in my entire life“. He also advised car drivers to
avoid drivin’ under the influence, because he wants to see all
spectators at the next show again. Jamey Jasta is very exemplary and
proves how important the fans are to the band.

„Destroy
Everything“ became the last song and Hatebreed
said goodbye to an amazin‘ audience, which kicked ass about 70 minutes
with mainman Jamey Jasta, guitar players Frank Novinec and Chris
Wozniak, bassist Chris Beattie and drummer Matt Byrne.
Hatebreed are simply unbeatable live on stage and the spectator’s
commitment on a Monday night is just as indescribable.

Hatebreed
sind live immer ein Highlight. Egal wo sie auftreten gibt das Publikum
Vollgas. Da spielt es keine Rolle, ob es ein Konzert in einem Club
oder ein Auftritt an einem Festival ist. Das letzte Mal waren
Hatebreed im Sommercasino aufgetreten, wo ich sie sah. Umso besser,
dass sie für ein Konzert in den Metaltempel Z7 zurückkehren. Als
Special Guest trat niemand geringeres als Soulfly auf.
Eigentlich
hätten Soulfly um 20 Uhr auftreten sollen. Jedoch mussten die Zuschauer aus
noch unerklärlichen Gründen 40 Minuten warten, bevor die Lichter
ausgingen und Sänger Max Cavalera die Bühne betrat. Mit viel Applaus
wurden er und seine Bandmitglieder Marco Rizzo (Lead Gitarrist), Tony
Campos (Bassist) und Max Sohn Zyon Cavalera (Schlagzeug) empfangen.
Alleine das mit Gewehrpatronen verzierte Mikrophon sorgte schon für
Neugier. Nach einem Intro ging es mit „Bloodshed“ los. Das
Publikum mochte die Darbietung und ging ab wie Schmidts Katze.
Soulflys Musik ist einfach elektrisierend und man hat keine andere
Wahl als mitzumachen. Das führte zu zahlreichen Circle Pits, die von
Max Cavalera gefordert wurden. Die Zuschauer in der ersten Reihe
bekamen davon nicht viel mit, ausser wenn Zuschauer von hinten nach
vorne gedruckt wurden. Sänger Max Cavalera freute sich über die
Circle Pits und schenkte den Metalheads ein Lächeln. Neben Hits wie
„Prophecy“, „Back to the Primitive“ und
„Seek’N’Strike“ kamen auch alte Sepultura Gassenhauer zum
Zug“. Mit „Refuse Resist“, „Arise“, „Dead Embryonic
Cells“ und der Abrissbirne „Roots Bloody Roots“ kann man nichts
falsch machen.
Die
Fans lieben diese Evergreens abgöttisch und applaudieren Frontmann
Max Cavalera. Bei „Revengence“ stiegen Max Bruder Igor Cavalera
und Max Stiefsohn Richie Cavalera auf die Bühne um mit dem Soulfly Sänger
abzurocken. Mittlerweile hat sich Max seiner Jacke entledigt und trägt
zur Freude aller Schweizer Metalheads ein T-Shirt vom Album
„Emperors Return“ von der legendären Schweizer Metal Band Celtic
Frost. „Eye For An Eye“ markierte das Ende einer grandiosen
Darbietung. Nach 55 Minuten verabschiedeten sich die Soulfly
Bandmitglieder vom enthusiastischen Publikum.

wurde die Bühne für Hatebreed vorbereitet. Nach dem Black Sabbath Klassiker
„Paranoid“ betrat der sehnlichst erwartete Headliner die Bühne.
Frontmann Jamey Jasta zeigte eine tolle Gesangsleistung und
verbreitete Freude an diesem Abend. Neben aktuellen Liedern von „The
Divinity of Purpose“ kamen auch ältere Abrissbirnen wie
„Perseverance“, „Facing What Consums You, „This Is Now“,
„Live For This“ und „Straight To Your Face“ zum Einsatz. Bei
„Live For This“ brüllten alle Zuschauer lautstark die Worte
„Live For This“ mit, was Sänger Jamey Jasta sehr beeindruckte.
Auch hier wurden Circle Pits durchgeführt, welche heftiger ausfielen
als bei Soulfly. Die
Anteilnahme und Begeisterung der Fans veranlasste Jamey Jasta zur
Aussage „Das ist der beste Metalabend in meinem ganzen Leben“.
Ausserdem wies er die Autofahrer an, sich nicht alkoholisiert ans
Steuer zu setzen. Das Risiko einen Unfall zu bauen ist sehr gross und
man will alle Zuschauer beim nächsten Konzert wieder sehen. Sehr
vorbildlich von Jamey und zeigt wie wichtig die Fans für die Band
sind.

„Destroy Everything“ erklang das letzte Lied und Hatebreed
verabschiedeten sich von einem tollen Publikum, welches 70 Minuten
lang mit Sänger Jamey Jasta, den Gitarristen Frank Novinec und Wayne
Lozniak, Bassist Chris Beattie und Schlagzeuger Matt Byrne Gas gegeben
hatte. Hatebreed sind live
einfach unschlagbar und was die Zuschauer an diesem Montagabend für
eine Hingabe gezeigt haben, ist einfach unbeschreiblich.
