„The Awakening“ was issued in 2011. The album was recorded at 2Ton Studio in Baden, Swiss Canton of Aargau, Switzerland. Producer Arvid Tjelta did the Mixing and Mastering process in Sandnes, Norway. National and international shows followed inclusive a support show for Jorn Lande at Z7 in Pratteln, Swiss Canton of Baselland, Switzerland.

The music on „The Awakening“ isn’t just pure Progressive Metal. That’s wrong. Spheric Keyboard parts and influences from movie soundtracks meet heavy guitar tunes.

„Stranded by Coincidence“ introduces the album and the Swiss show what they’ve got for the first time. The song starts with a heavy guitar tune by guitar player Rodger Iqbal underlined by spheric Keyboard sounds of Vito Städler. Ramin Dänzer’s pitch of his voice reminds a little bit of Disturbed singer David Drainman.

„Awakening“ is the longest track on the album and convinces with its various arrangements. The band reveals the different influences of their music. This song would be perfect for a Science-Fiction movie.

„Invasion“ is the second last track on the album. One more kick ass music.

After that a Goa / Psytrance remix by Beat Herren is the next song. He also produced this remix.

„The Awakening“ is a great first impression into the multi-dimensional cosmic sound universe of Influence X.

2011 wurde „The Awakening“ veröffentlicht. Aufgenommen wurde das Album im 2Ton Studio in Baden, Kanton Aargau, Schweiz. Das Abmischen und Mastern übernahm Produzent Arvid Tjelta in Sandnes, Norwegen. Konzerte im In- und Ausland folgten inklusive ein Auftritt als Vorband von Jorn Lande im Konzerttempel Z7 in Pratteln, Kanton Baselland, Schweiz.

Die Musik auf „The Awakening“ als reiner Progressive Metal zu bezeichnen ist falsch. Hier treffen sphärische Keyboards und Einflüsse aus Filmmusik mit harten Gitarrenriffs aufeinander.

„Stranded by Coincidence“ eröffnet das Album bei dem die Schweizer zum ersten Mal zeigen was sie drauf haben. Mit einem deftigen Gitarrenriff von Rodger Iqbal wird das Lied eröffnet, untermalt mit sphärischen Keyboards-Klängen von Vito Städler. Sänger Ramin Dänzers Gesang erinnert von der Tonlage her ein wenig an Disturbed Frontmann David Drainman.

„Awakening“ ist der längste Song des Albums und überzeugt durch seinen abwechslungsreichen Aufbau bei dem die Band die verschiedenen Facetten ihrer Einflüsse offenbart. Dieser Song würde gut zu einem Science Fiction Film passen.

„Invasion“ ist der zweitletzte Track bei dem nochmals ordentlich Gas gegeben wird.

Danach folgt ein Goa / Psytrance Remix von Beat Herren. Dieser hat diesen Remix auch selber produziert.

Ein toller erster Einblick in den vielschichtigen Klangkosmos, den uns Influence X mit ihrem Debüt „The Awakening“ vorlegen.
