                       THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR A SINGER

Hi....The Opera are an important band for the melodic metal Sicilian  scene...can you present the band to all our readers?

First of all good evening .   The Opera is a Progressive metal band since 2002    Unfortunately we had a lot of troubles throughout the year because of many line up changes.   Since 2006 we are four and i believe this is the better line up ever for the band.   In these days we have finally finished to compose our first album and we are very enthusiastic.

Ok...the new work is the first official one for you...are you looking for a label or will it be only a demo ?

Surely we are searching for a label.   We would like to publish the complete album in order to let people listen all our emotions.   It is also the same thought of our artistic producer which did a great work according to sounds and execution of each musician of the band…it is our strong intention to have the best possible sound for our stuff doing the mixing and mastering in a great Italian studio which I can’t say the name at the moment.

Who's your artistic producer?

I believe one of the greatest singers in Europe,    a Friend, a Brother, and a really Great Musician :   the absolutely "amazing" Roberto Tiranti (singer of Labyrinth)

Ok..let's talk about the demo ...in my opinion it sounds very progressive but I notice many influences in your music....not only prog-met...

I agree with you.    Every song is the result of many influences,    every one of us have brought to the band is personal influences.    For example Luca( Drum) and me are grown up with the 80's metal masters such as Iron Maiden, Testament, Metallica, Helloween .   Peppe (Bass) loves more technical such as Nevermore, Death and the extreme metal scene,   on the other hand Gaetano  (Guitar) is a  a son of Gun's and Roses and Extreme.

So naturally all this influences gave life to The Opera Sound   without any mind restrictions about genres.

Since  August 2007  we started a project which brought us to create a show entirely dedicated to one of the most important band in history of music :   QUEEN.  This choice has giving us a lot of satisfactions.   It is really funny to see fathers and sons to jump singing together " I W aNT TO BREa K FREE" 

The Opera an important band for the hope of Sicily...but I think it's very diffucult now to play for shows, the interests for prog-metal...what does give to you the power to go on?

It is true! In Sicily  is very difficult to play for shows…and it is even more difficult if you play your songs…especially heavy metal songs… Personally I find the power to go on thanks to the true love for the music… To be on stage is amazing!!! I love too much this work to give up!!! Personally I can say that I quite never give up!

What do you think about the power-metal scene with particular attention Italian bands?

It is difficult to deal with Power metal scene…Nowadays I quite don’t know the Italian and European power metal scene…but I don’t like the things that I listen…I can say that in the second part of ’90 the level in Italy was almost high!!! By my side a lot of great bands born and gave life to immortals masterpieces!!! There was a new born of Classical and Power metal… But suddenly something happens…and slowly the things changed!

Nowadays there is a sort of crisis of the power metal genre… Less ideas and a lot of useless bands with nothing new to say.

The same thing is for the Italian scene… I listen only few bands like Labyrinth, DGM, Rhapsody of Fire, Vision Divine, bands who play a high quality music with great ideas!

The melody is the essence of music...I think that Italian bands gets a very particular charm in this sense...is it true?

Surely there are less musicians in the world with the same sensibility, elegance and sense of melody like Italians!!! Absolutely I agree with you!!!

Can you explain to our readers your projects, and when (you think) will you be out with the complete work?

The full length will be published and probably the end of 2008…there will be something more… we want to give to you a great work…the best that we can! After the album surely we will play as much as possible!!!

Your clean and brilliant vocals are the result of years of passion and study, what can you advice to all beginners singer?

First of all thank you for your words!!! I can say one important thing: STUDY  AND TAKE CARE !!! STUDY AND TAKE CARE !!! STUDY AND TAKE!!!

To study is really the most important thing for a singer! To take care of your instrument is with correct technical according to your vocal qualities will let you sing a long in your life!  Don’t search your voice in other singers… search inside your soul… in your sensations and emotions… There you will find the singer that will be!!!

What’s your musical dream as artist and The Opera member?

Nothing special !!! I would have the opportunity to play my music in front of a lot of people… as much as possible!!! To give emotions to people!!! This is my dream!!!

Three adjectives to describe your new demo?

Emotionally , Strong, Technical.

Now the game of the tower...you're on a high tower with 3 bands...two of them must be pushed down...only the third one will be saved....

Oh Baby!!! It’s difficult… i have to sacrifice to monsters in every case… so i choose to save the band of one of the Greatest Singer EVER!!!  QUEENSRYCHE!!!
