BANDS SHOULD PLAY WHAT THEY'RE ABLE TO PLAY , NOT WHAT THEY'RE ABLE TO PROGRAM

Hi!!! Can you introduce "Oracle Sun"....The band was formed 3 years ago...is it true?

Hi, I’m Alessandro, bass player. Yes, it’s true, the band was formed in 2002. The idea started by Emi Manuguerra ( guitars) and Val Shieldon (vocals), who called Frank Andiver, and then me and Fabrizio.

This debut album show us mature compositions ...Who's the main composer?

Actually there are not main composers, we wrote together, during our rehearsals. You can perceive it by the different moods and grooves that are in every songs… I mean, there could be a thrash riff and soon after an AOR refrain… Everybody suggested the building of the song!

Oracle Sun are formed by important names of metal scene...do you think to create a new important name in the metal scene that will make live-shows or this project is only for studio-albums?

Of course, we hope to become an important band; we are working for live shows, now, and we’ll make some. This will not be a “studio-project”, we’ll continue in every possible way.

Which are the best songs of this album in your opinion?

That damned question J! How can I tell you which is the best of my sons?!? I could only  say which are the ones I like to play: Changes, Lost in Silence and Everlasting are very funny to play!

Italy is the "land of Power-Progressive Metal", do you agree? Which are your favourite bands?

Well, I don’t quite like labels… Nobody begins to play in a band choosing the riffs and refrains by saying: this is more thrash than power, this melody is more hard rock than thrash… I mean: it’s still metal! We’ve all grown up with metal, and we are full of “inputs” and have a lot of influences! Bands should play what they’re able to play, not what they’re able to program!

And further, the prog played by Dream Theater or Sieges Even it’s the same of Jethro Tull or King Crimson’s one?

In answer of the second part of the question I’d say Labyrinth, Vision Divine, Time Machine; That, obviously, concerning metal bands!

Tell me something about Scarlet Records...How are the relationships with the label?

Scarlet Records it’s a very good label! They work very hard for every artist they have, and work  well! We are in very good relationship!

Are you completely satisfied of this album?

Yes, of course! We’re very satisfied from the recordings ‘till the mixing sessions!

Three adjectives to describe your music......

Ehi! YOU are the reviewer J!!! Ok, let me see… airy, large, spontaneous.

Are you already writing new songs?

Yes, we are writing for the new album and we have a bunch of new songs, still waiting to be arranged!

The Game of the Tower is our usual final question for the bands we interview for the first time....You're on a high tower and there are  3 bands with you.... You have to push down two of them, saving only one.....For you there are....

  Labyrinth         Vision Divine           Secret Sphere

Ehi, we are all living it the neighborhood! People of the two bands I let fall could seek me! (and destroy J)  Well, if I don’t have a chance… I will let fall Labyrinth and Secret Sphere, because I know people in Vision Divine! Maybe someone else of the band would have saved another one…

Thank you a lot guys!

Bye Salvo, thank you for the chance you give us! Stay Metal
