the final result is unpredictable

some excerptions:

...There’s no best thing than to play in front of many people...

...Rock=noise …we’ve had the proof that this is not the true...

HY my first question is ….you’re Tristema…can you present yourselves  to our readers?
Ale: Hy to all!!!We come from Cilento..a small part of Campania. We were born in 2005 and since the begin we decided to carry on the idea to create our own music and our first cd has been published in 2007 and it’s entitled “Come ti vorrei” that contains ten songs of pop/alternative /rock style.

Listening to your album I think that is interesting to underline that you play a certain kind of music that reminds of Finnish rock music …(Him, Entwine, Sentenced)…and it’s well mixed with an Italian approach for what the melodic approach concerns…an original style…is it true?
Ale: It’s a great pleasure to be compared to those Scandinavian bands…in particular for me!!!
Romolo: Our characteristic is to mix different musical influences …and I’m fascinated of this….when 4 people decide to play together the final result is unpredictable
Ale: Our music is the result of the miscellaneous between Finnish rock and Italian pop/rock and for this I can say that you’ve found the exact essence of it!

….Great!!!
Which is the “link” between typical Italian music and Tristema?
Ale: I acknowledge that we all love Italian language and for this reason we decide to sing in our language because we want to give value to Italian language that many bands snub….after this introduction we know well that in Italy there are good and bad music …we in particular love Italian underground artist like Paolo Benevegnù that is a great Italian artist…in general I want to say that in Italy many good artists and bands are relegated to underground…
Romolo: it’s true, many bands don’t sing in Italian and in my and our opinion it’s not good…it’s like they’d refuse their origin…even if I have to say that in Italy not all record producers make good chooses….and the things don’t work well…
Ale: it’s what I said before…many good musical situations are not perceived by the major’s attention ….

Your music is sensitive, passionate…and, like I said before, it’s near to Lovemetal…many people wrote that the risk is to have only young girl fans…what can you tell me about that?
Ale: I think that the things change in according to you make them….we’ve written these songs because we’ve have had strong emotions from different stories ….love story like “Libero”, “Di notte” or social lyrics like “Funerale”…and who listen to our music can receive emotions and to fell them in a different way…young sensitive girls can better perceive a song that tells about love instead of a song that tells that our collectivity is going bad….To be considered like a lovemetal band with a young girl public is not a bad thing considering young girls are those who came to see your concerts…buy cd, gadgets etc…but for an artist the best thing is to have a wide public….

I add that you make a very good music in my opinion…but considering that we’ve mentioned about the lyrics…who does write the lyrics? Do you write lyrics and after music or vice versa?
Ale: Most of the lyrics are written by me, both music and lyrics, concerning the sequence, I say that it depends from what I felt in that moment, in this latest album, for the most the music is born before the lyrics.
Romolo: Yes, he delivers the ideas and after we elaborate together …

Your album is dated 2007 and from then to now many good thing happened to you…a general consent and you’ve been best Campania band in 2008, and moreover an important collaboration with Lorenzo Maffia…what do we have to wait for the imminent future?
Ale: After this release , many good things happened to us, we’ve had the honor to open concerts for great artists like: PFM, tm Stevens, Andrea Braido, Subsonica, Capossela etc…moreover…the pleasure to be considered as you told before one of the best Campania bands and working with Lorenzo, a great Italian musician that has worked with an artist like Laura Pausini; we’ve arranged some songs with him, but now the work with him is finished, and at the moment we’re working to make a great tour for all Italy and we hope also abroad in which we’ll play our songs and some re-arranged covers…that seem our songs!!!...moreover I tell you that we’re already working for new our songs, and we hope to make a new album for the next summer after the spring tour.
Romolo: Top secret !!!

A tournèe is the best moment to understand if your music involves the audience…what are your consideration?
Ale: There’s no best thing than to play in front of many people…to express your sensation and to let people perceive your emotions by one of the best means of the world…THE MUSIC!
Romolo: That’s right…to communicate by music is the best thing …to share emotions and let the audience live your emotions…this year we’ve done a lot of live dates…
Ale: We’ve found an unexpected number of fans….
Romolo: we thought to finish the concert without audience…instead it has been the contrary!

Ale: People sung our songs under the stage..and it’s an indescribable emotion…because as you know the rock scene in Italy is not perceived in the right way….
Romolo: Yes…Rock=noise … we’ve had the proof that this is not the true….many people …also those who doesn’t listen to rock have bought our cd!!!

Ok…in your album I find the cohabitation of many styles belonging to rock…there’s a different approach for most of the songs contained in your album….”Di notte” sounds more rock metal style than “Ti sto cercando” that sounds by a typical rock arrangement…
Ale: As we told you everyone gets his personal influences …but the matrix is always rock, and sometimes one song puts in evidence this aspect in according to our personal influences…for example “Di notte” is nearer to my taste that I love that style…”Ti sto cercando” is nearer to Romolo’s influences.

Romolo: It’s true this is an aspect we’ve analyzed together but in my opinion, even if the songs may sounds a little different concerning arrangement approach ,there are 4 different essence…
…Metal and rock can be part of the same project if the essence is the same.
Romolo: yes!
Ale: I think that music is music end everything can live with it….

Ok…give me 3 adjectives to describe your music …
Ale : Overwhelming, mysterious, passionate
Romolo: passionate, involving, emotional

This is the last question..you’re on a very tower, and with you there are 3 bands..you have to push down two of them, saving the third one, with you there are: HIM, ENTWINE, U2.
Ale: I push down U2….Him or Entwine???that’s not easy for me….I save Entwine.
Romolo: OK..that’s the same…I push down Him and U2.

Thanks for your time!!!see u soon!!
Thanx to you, Salvo!
