Quintessence.

"Waiting For The End To Come" is the sound of Kataklysm, free from commercial embellishments, this album is quintessence of refined brutality yet the typical Kataklysm melodies still spring out so often from the terror of the music, at times even powerfully, in songs like Fire , Kill The Elite, Under Lawless Skies, Dead & Buried and in the stellar song Elevate.
Ex Neuraxis Oli Beaudoin`s drumming gives freshness and strength to the rhythmic section redefining the "hyperblasting" attitude. His mighty blast beats dominate a range from mid time to extreme fast rhythm with an integrity of intention free from mechanical or too emotional sound. Hail to the Canadian Hyperblasters that are back  in the best shape even with a more modern feeling for rock `n roll (The Promise) and for melodic death metal flavoured in metalcore. Although riffs and vocals remain groovy and faithful to the usual patterns of the band, the album presents a musical mood that opens a door to new horizons.
Songs are interesting in music and lyrics, the guitar work is imposing bringing good soloings too.  In spite of the fierce, lively, rejuvenated brutal mayhem, this "beast" doesnt hide a deep dark feeling of impending sadness. And this is charming.
Opener Fire, closer Elevate and the central position of the other two excellent songs Under Lawless Skies and The Darkest Days of Slumber are the good strategy concerning the sequence of the tracks, because in this way all songs find the right moment to unleash their characteristics like winw in a decanter . Let's not forget to mention the good Sacred Reich cover "The American Way" as bonus track.
"Waiting For The End To Come", which is also the twelfth studio album of the band, was mixed and mastered by formidable producer/engineer Zeuss (Hatebreed, Suffocation, Chimaira, All That Remains) and is the waiting for the  begin to come.
