Legendary
Unearth.
It’s
been a whole year since the American metalcore institution Unearth
visited the area of Basel. They played at „Earshaker Day 2012“
for the first time in city of Basel and performed very well.
The
Sommercasino doors opened on 7 PM. Actually the support band
should’ve opened on 7 :30 PM. On 8 PM, no one else than Worse
to Come entered the stage. The Basler Metalcore band about
singer Basil Lehmann stand for kick ass shows. They rocked the
crowd after an intro. Singer Basil Lehmann was very grateful for
the opportunity doin‘ a show as support for the legendary Unearth.
He did a great vocal performance. Even guitar player Tiziano
Volante and new bass player Anton Schwarz did a good job too. He
got introduced to the crowd by Basil. Former bass player Etienne
Schmid is the band photograph now. Drummer Marco von Allmen did a
drum solo what the spectators liked. He received much applause.
A
lot of violent dancing occured after „Estou com fome“ got
played and a spectator got hit. That’s why almost a brawl broke
out but this could be prevented before somebody got injured. Worse
to Come did a great show and left the stage.

An
interruption followed and the stage got prepared for Unearth.
The lights went out on 8:55 PM and Unearth entered the
stage. They opened with „Watch it Burn“. Singer Trevor Phipps
drove the crowd crazy with announcements and a strong vocal
performance. Guitar player Buz McGrath also convinced with his
guitar solos. Their music of technique, heavyness and emotion was
well received by the audience and caused standin’ ovations. Some
spectators freaked out and started a circle pit. Unearth
convinced with a set of old and new songs. Unfortunately, the show
ended after 55 minutes without an encore. Furthermore, more
spectators in the Sommercasino would’ve been great. There were
less people.

conclusion is as follow: The play time was too short and one or
two encores would’ve been great.

Die
legendären Unearth.
Seit
die Amerikanische Metalcore Institution Unearth die Region
Basel mit ihrer Anwesenheit beehrt hat, ist ein Jahr vergangen. Am
„Earshaker Day 2012“ spielten sie zum ersten Mal in der Stadt
Basel und zeigten eine tolle Vorstellung. Nun kehrten sie auf
ihrer „European Summer Tour 2013“ für ein einziges Konzert in
die Schweiz zurück.
Um
19 Uhr öffneten sich die Türen vom Sommercasino. Ursprünglich
hätte um 19:30 Uhr die Vorband eröffnen sollen. Um 20 Uhr betrat
niemand geringeres als Worse to Come die Bühne. Die Basler
Metalcore Combo um Rampensau Basil Lehmann steht für
hochkarätige Auftritte. Nach einem Intro legten sie furios los
und heizten der Menge ein. Sänger Basil Lehmann zeigte sich
dankbar für die legendären Unearth eröffnen zu dürfen
und lieferte eine tolle Gesangsleistung hin. Auch Gitarrist
Tiziano Volante und der neue Bassist Anton Schwarz, der von Basil
dem Publikum vorgestellt wurde, gaben Vollgas. Ex-Bassist Etienne
Schmid ist nun Bandfotograf. Schlagzeuger Marco von Allmen zeigte
ein Schlagzeugsolo, welches von den Zuschauern mit viel Applaus
bedacht wurde.
Kurz
nachdem mit „Estou com fome“ das letzte Lied gespielt wurde,
gab es extrem viel Violent Dancing bei dem ein Zuschauer getroffen
wurde. Deswegen brach fast eine Schlägerei aus, die jedoch
beendet werden konnte bevor jemand zu Schaden kam. Worse to
Come lieferten eine tolle Vorstellung ab und verliessen die
Bühne.

Ein
Unterbruch folgte und die Bühne wurde für Unearth
umgebaut. Um 20:55 Uhr war es dann soweit. Die Lichter gingen aus
und Unearth betraten die Bühne. Mit „Watch it Burn“
eröffneten sie ihr Set. Sänger Trevor Phipps brachte das
Publikum mit Ansagen und einer starken Gesangsleistung zum
Ausflippen und Gitarrist Buz McGrath legte mit seinen Solos
ebenfalls eine Glanzleistung hin. Ihre Musik aus Technik, Härte
und Emotion sorgte für Begeisterung und das Publikum feierte
jeden Song ab. Ein Schlagzeug Solo von Nick Pierce kam bei den
Fans sehr gut an und löste Jubel aus. Einige drehten derart
durch, dass ein Circle Pit erfolgte. Durch eine Setlist mit alten
und neuen Songs konnten Unearth überzeugen. Leider war
nach 55 Minuten Schluss. Es gab keine Zugabe. Ausserdem hätten
mehr Zuschauer dem Sommercasino gut getan. Es waren wenige Leute
am Start.

Fazit:
Die Spielzeit war meiner Meinung nach zu kurz und 1-2 Zugaben
wären toll gewesen. Deswegen war nicht nur ich enttäuscht.
