 BEHEMOTH

A teaser for BEHEMOTH's "Prometherion" video has been posted at this location. The clip was shot on July 18 with acclaimed director Soren (ALL THAT REMAINS, UNEARTH) in Los Angeles. Look for it everywhere early next month. Soren states: "Somewhere between the ideal of heaven and reality of hell falls the new BEHEMOTH video. An expression of the fallenness of man and the will to crawl through our own painful condition towards hope. This is a painful video to make and watch."

 KATAKLYSM

Canadian death metallers KATAKLYSM have announced that they have cancelled their previously announced U.S. dates with DEVILDRIVER which were set to take place in August.

Commented guitarist Jean-Francois Dagenais: "I think we were all in the band looking forward to hitting the road again and raise mayhem, but there's a lot of magic that just created with the writing process and all of us are too much into it to break the mood and progress. My studio is ready and we dedicated to start recording the new album 'Prevail' August 15th and work on it 'till we leave for our European tour at the end of September. We also decided that we will mix the album in January in Florida with producer Jason Suecof (TRIVIUM, CHIMAIRA, THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER) which we are looking forward to. Myself and Jason will make sure the album is as flawless as possible with a crushing production!! So for the many fans that were hitting up our MySpace and website looking forward to seeing us live this summer. We sincerely apologize but it's for a good cause, trust me. On the other side of things we have some very serious offers for November and December so we are planning on hitting the road in the States then. There's some big things in the horizon... We will keep you posted!"

Metal Reigns recently posted a 20-minute audio interview with Jean-Francois Dagenais conducted during the band's recent Invaluable Darkness Tour with DIMMU BORGIR. Download and listen to the interview at this location (MP3 file, 6 MB).

KATAKLYSM recently decided to "immortalize" the character that was featured on the cover of their most recent album, "In the Arms of Devastation", and have him re-appear as the main character — dubbed "The Heartbeast" — on their next offering, titled "Prevail".

Commented KATAKLYSM vocalist Maurizio Iacono: "We had so [much] killer feedback on the artwork but especially on the character that we decided to keep him as the band's fifth band member... kinda like IRON MAIDEN did with 'Eddie.' We have the perfect concept for the next album art... it will be bad-ass!"

 SODOM

SODOM's new album, "The Final Sign of Evil", is scheduled for release on September 28 in Germany and October 1 in the rest of Europe via SPV Records. A North American release date has not yet been announced. The CD will feature re-recordings of the material from the German thrashers' classic first EP, "In the Sign of Evil", plus no less than seven bonus tracks, all of which were originally written during the "In the Sign of Evil" era or earlier but were never officially released. As a special bonus, the album will feature return appearances by the group's original drummer Chris Dudek (a.k.a. Witchhunter) and guitarist Josef "Peppi" Dominic (a.k.a. Grave Violator), both of whom were featured on the original 1984 EP.

The cover artwork for "The Final Sign of Evil", has been posted online at this location (artwork by Andreas Marschall). The band's webmaster Toto, who produced the effort, previously stated about the upcoming CD, "The official name is 'The Final Sign of Evil', and follows the plan to make the 'In the Sign of Evil' a complete album.  DESTRUCTION

German thrashers DESTRUCTION will replace W.A.S.P. on the following festivals this coming weekend:

Jul. 06 - Germany – Osterode - Rock Harz Festival
Jul. 07 - Netherlands – Burgum - Waldrock Festival

W.A.S.P. postponed the shows that were to take place in Europe this week due to "a family illness occurring in the U.S. that need immediate attention," according to a posting on the group's web site. "This forced the band to return to Los Angeles right away."

 EXODUS

Veteran San Francisco Bay Area metallers EXODUS entered Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California on June 10 with producer Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, MACHINE HEAD, NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY) to begin recording their new album for a late 2007 release via Nuclear Blast Records.

EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt has issued the following update: "Sorry about the total lack of communication, but I've been staying in the Bay Area at my parents' house (I live three hours north nowadays) and have had no Internet, nor the time since we have been locked away with Mr. Sneap for up to 14 hours a day, just killing ourselves. But all that's left are Lee's [Altus] solos and then the mix and it's finished. And I know you hear this shit all the time, which is why I've stay pretty silent through all this, but this record is like nothing you've ever heard. A genre-defining record, a career-defining record — simply put, the baddest fucking slab of metal recorded in years. Epic, crushing, huge in scope, and at times brutally simple, and at time massively complex. I am sooo stoked! You can't wipe the smile off of my face when I am listening to it. Proudest moment, for sure. Solos are off the hook, Lee is adding a ton more shred as I am typing this, Tom [Hunting] raised the bar on drumming in general, Jack's [Gibson] bass is a jack hammer, and Duke's [singer Rob Dukes] just kills it like never before. Can you tell I'm a bit excited about this one? No if only it will fit on one disc, we are off and running! Song titles coming soon. I have to have some secrets."

Vocalist Rob Dukes added: "Just got home (New York) after being in Cali for two months... Everyone — Gary, Jack and Lee — killed. I'm so glad Tom [Hunting, drums] is back and playing in my opinion better than ever. He defintely schooled motherfuckers in the thrash drumming department. He just killed. Working with Andy Sneap was rad. I don't want to say too much and sound like everybody else about how heavy the new record is; I'll let it speak for itself when it comes out and kicks your fucking face in... I'm so stoked to be a part of it; it's the coolest thing I have ever done in this life..."

EXODUS has scheduled the following dates during August:

Aug. 04 - San Marcos, CA @ The Jumping Turtle
Aug. 05 - Mexicali, Mexico @ El Jardin Sllencio Extreme
Aug. 06 - Modesto, CA @ Fat Cat Music house
Aug. 07 - West Hollywood, CA @ Whiskey A Go Go
Aug. 08 - Corona, CA @ Showcase Theater
Aug. 09 - Fresno, CA @ Belmont
Aug. 10 - San Jose, CA @ Blank Club

Tickets for the above dates are available through EnterTheVault.com and all normal ticketing outlets.

 MINISTRY

MINISTRY has set a September 18 release date for its new album, entitled "The Last Sucker". The CD, which features a guest appearance by FEAR FACTORY frontman Burton Bell on two tracks ("End of Days Part I" and "End of Days Part II", will be MINISTRY's final album, and like its two predecessors — 2004's "Houses of the Mole" and last year's "Rio Grande Blood" — it will be politically minded blast at the administration of President George W. Bush.

Watch a video message from the group's mainman Al Jourgensen announcing the new album release date at YouTube.
