CRYPTOPSY
Guitarist Alex Auburn of the Canadian death metallers CRYPTOPSY
has sent the following update to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:
"CRYPTOPSY will soon announce the new acquisitions in the band
for the positions of lead singer and keyboardist/samplist. We will release
new pictures of the band by October and CRYPTOPSY will be in studio
for the recording of their sixth album in November 2007. By early 2008, CRYPTOPSY
will be ready to tour intensively throughout the world."
CRYPTOPSY parted ways with singer Lord Worm (a.k.a. Dan
Greening) in April. No reason was given for Lord Worm's
departure, but according to Auburn, the vocalist was "kicked
out" of the band and didn't leave of his own accord (an account later disputed
by Lord Worm)

NEURAXIS
Montreal-based extreme metal act NEURAXIS
will release "Live Progression" on November 6 in Canada
and December 15 for the rest of the world via Galy Records. The
band's fifth album is the group's first live recording featuring new
singer Alexandre Leblanc (POINT BLANK RAGE, ATHERETIC)
and guitarist William Seghers (ex-QUO VADIS).
"Live Progression" was recorded earlier this year in
Quebec City, Canada at L'Imperial and was mixed by J-F Dagenais (KATAKLYSM)
with the artwork and layout done by Sven De Caluwé (ABORTED).
The CD captures NEURAXIS' neck-breaking live show after touring for
the last two years throughout North America, Europe and Japan.

TANKARD
Long-running Frankfurt, Germany-based
thrash metallers TANKARD will make a one-off U.S. appearance on March
9, 2008 at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City. Tickets are
available via EnterTheVault.com
exclusively until September 21 at which point they will be sold through all
normal ticketing outlets.
TANKARD entered Stage One studios in Borgentreich, Germany
earlier in the year with producer Andy Classen (DEW-SCENTED, CALLENISH
CIRCLE, TANKARD, OCCULT) to record new versions of their
biggest "hits" — from "(Empty) Tankard" and "Chemical
Invasion" to "The Morning After" and "Space
Beer". The resulting collection, "Best Case Scenario: 25
Years In Beers", is scheduled for release on August 31 through AFM
Records, with a special limited first edition set to include the bonus
CD "A Tribute to Tankard", featuring cover versions of 18 TANKARD
songs performed by such artists as SACRED STEEL, MANTICORA, ABANDONED,
PARADOX, COURAGEOUS and SCORNAGE.

MEGADETH
MEGADETH
mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the
"Forums" section of the band's web site:
"I will check in later when we know more, but we have officially
confirmed Jakarta, Indonesia with my good friend Tommy Pratama, and
Seoul, Korea with our good promoter H. J. Jeon too.
"I am so excited to go back to South Korea; it has been a long time and
I love the people (especially because of learning so much about Korea for my
Chodan). And Jakarta was such a different experience that I doubt I would
ever have been able to take all of Indonesia in. However, I would love to go
see the waves, but sea snakes scare me, and I seem to remember the surf
being great down there, but something was ominous and dangerous about
surfing there.
"Anyway, I will see great waves the following week in Australia, and
while we still are unconfirmed for China, India, and Malaysia, we are still
working on making those dreams come true!"
MEGADETH's U.S. tour this fall kicks off in Anchorage, Alaska on
September 4, taking the band through 24 U.S. cites ending up in Norfolk
Virginia on October 6. Support on the dates will come from IN THIS MOMENT
and THE CONFESSION.

KATAKLYSM
|
Kataklysm have
officially confirmed their first Australian tour, that will
also hit New Zealand, for late March 2008. The band is
extremely thrilled to finally play for their Aussie fans.
Expect an electrifying live set that Kataklysm is known for.
As many as eight shows are planned, dates to be released in
the coming weeks... Stay tuned!

The band is entering
the studio this week with producer and guitarist J-F Dagenais.
Drummer Max Duhamel will first lay down the drum work for
"PREVAIL". The recording process will last five
weeks (hopefully), with vocalist Maurizio Iacono scheduled to
record his vocals in Sept.
Comments Maurizio:
"The album is
done and ready to go, although it was a breeze to write this
album as things came so naturally. On the lyrics end, I worked
the hardest I have in years, making sure everything is where
it should be. At times it was real difficult but the end
result will speak for itself. I'm truly convinced this album
will take no prisoners. As you know we don't repeat the same
record twice, this album stands on a league of its own - and
I'm not saying it's our best album, because only the fans have
the right to say whether it is or not. All I'm saying is I
listen to the songs and I wanna punch the fucking wall... that
means we are on to something good."
Kataklysm has also
hired the services of producer Jason Suecof (Chimaira, Trivium,
The Black Dahlia Murder) to mix the album in early January
2008. "PREVAIL" will also feature some guest
appearances to be announced at a later date.
The highly
anticipated album is scheduled for a worldwide release date of
MAY 23rd 2008 via Nuclear Blast Records.

metallers MISERY INDEX have issued the following update:
"We are back from Europe and it was amazing as always,
especially so because we went to many new places like Ukraine,
Turkey, and Croatia, that really made an adventure of it all. Many
thanks to all the bands we played with, the kind people we met, and
the great promoters, especially in Turkey and Croatia for the last
minute DIY fun. Look for a comprehensive tour diary and pics up
soon.
"We are settling in to the songwriting phase now, with a good
five or six songs under construction, and with an aim of recording
by May next year for a September 2008 release. However, to tide you
over until then, we will have a split EP with Switzerland's MUMAKIL
out later this year on Power It Up! Records, and it will
feature three new songs from us, stay tuned!
"In concert news, we are doing a weekend of dates in Canada in
November, to coincide with the Trois Rivieres Metalfest. We
are hitting Toronto, Rouyn-Noranda, and, of course, Trois Rivieres
over the three-day run."

AKASHIC
Akashic's
guitarist canceled the rest of South American Guitar Masters Tour
2007 in Chile
- Marcos
de Ros, guitarist of the progressive metal band AKASHIC,
and Pablo G. Soler, who were in the middle of South
American Guitar Masters Tour 2007 had to cancel the rest
of the shows scheduled for August in Chile, due to the bad
administration of their tour management.
The musicians
state that Mr. Gonzalo Arratia isn't their tour manager anymore
and can't represent the guitarists. They would like to apologize with
the local promoters, press, sponsors and the fans. Marcos and
Pablo promise to go back to Chile soon.

Irish dark metal masters PRIMORDIAL
have issued the following update:
"So we are finally finished the recording of our sixth album. After a
few rain-sodden weeks locked up in Foel Studios in North Wales, 'To
The Nameless Dead' is for all but mastering and final artwork
completed.
This time far away from the chaos and negative influences of a big city
the recording process was far smoother and more complete then we have ever
known. We left at the end quietly satisfied as opposed to feeling like our
nerves were shot and far more stressed then we began. Much of this we owe
to Chris Fielding who engineered it and put many long hours into
its creation and to Dave Anderson who has created something we can
only call a 'good vibe' in the middle of nowhere far from the meddling
influence of civilisation….immense thanks.
"The sound is, of course, instantly recognisable as PRIMORDIAL
but more powerful then before, heavier and richer with a much more rounded
sound then before. Whereas 'The Gathering Wilderness' was a dark
often impenetrably bleak work 'To The Nameless Dead' has found the
fire in its veins to defy, to rebel, to stand up and oppose all. This is a
vast and epic album, more pounding and full of rage than PRIMORDIAL
has been for many a winter…
"It is defiantly at odds with a modern metal scene that often seems
to place banality, mediocrity and safety above passion, honesty and truth.
It does not sound like a computer recorded it, it does not sound like a
procession of riffs simply poached from metals founding fathers, it is not
a mindless exercise in musical masturbation. This is metal is it was meant
to be played. With passion…
"We play music because we have to…this is in our veins. This is our
culture, our history, our folklore, our heritage. We make no apologies, we
will not compromise. And now with our sixth album, 'To The Nameless
Dead', we are about to make our strongest statement yet…"
"To The Nameless Dead" will be released in Europe on
November 24 via Metal Blade Records. The first edition will contain
a limited live disc recorded at the Rock Hard Festival in a lavish
book format.

Danish metallers ILLDISPOSED
have replaced DYING FETUS on the 2007 edition of the Up
From The Ground festival, set to take place August 24-25 in Gemünden,
Germany. According to the festival organizers, "the fact that
this step was necessary to cancel the band finally is very
unfortunate indeed. We defined clear conditions for this show and
informed the booking agency in front of the announcement in good
time. Sad to say this terms were not adhered respectively ignored.
And it was subsequent not possible to find a composition. We don't
know if DYING FETUS were involved in this progress. We were
only in contact with their agency." The festival billing is now

on the billing of the tenth-anniversary edition of Germany's Summer
Breeze festival, set to take place August 16-18, 2007 in Dinkelsbühl. CREMATORY
was forced to cancel its participation in the event due to illness.

recently signed a long-term contract with AFM Records. His solo debut

TO-MERA
Lee Barrett,
bassist of British progressive metallers TO-MERA, has issued the
following update:
"Well, we've got eight new songs in various states of completion.
Titles confirmed so far include 'The Lie', 'A Sorrow To Kill',
'Merry-Go-Round' and 'Asylum'. Working titles (i.e. these could
change!) include 'Temptation' and 'A Silver Key'.
"We will start the recording process on August 21st, again using Brett
Caldas-Lima who produced the debut 'Transcendental'. Recording
will take place near Oxford, England at a purpose built rehearsal studio
(which is a bit better than the 'back room of a pub' like last time, hehe).
"The music's definitely going in a heavier direction. I know most bands
say this, but since Tom [MacLean, guitar] is writing a
majority of the stuff with his seven-string baritone tuned to F# it's
definitely true. The songs are also going to be considerably more complex
and roundly structured than before. All the parts that have become
'typically' TO-MERA are still going to be there only much more so in
every possible way. There's more fluidity and emotional depth to the new
songs. We're all more than happy with the way things are working out.
"You may be pleased to know the average song time is still hitting the
seven-minute mark!”
TO-MERA's debut album, "Transcendental", was
released in Europe on September 11 via Candlelight Records. A U.S.
release followed in early October.

The
band are currently busy with writing new songs for their 4th album. Studio
E has been booked a 2nd time with Markus Stock(Empyrium/The Vision Bleak)
at the controls once more. This album will be the first recording for the
band with a new lineup since their formation in 1995 . According to
Darren(Vocals) the sound of the new songs are a continuation of 'A
Murderous Circus' but with some old flavours of the 2nd album' The
Sullen Sulcus'. The album should see an early release in 2008.
A
tour is planed for the Spring of 2008.

funeral doom legends Funeral will finally embark on their
first ever tour of Europe since the release of their first and legendary
album 'Tristesse' way back in '95 along with the

founding members of the band.
