 DISRUPT

Relapse will reissue "Unrest", the one-and-only full-length album from Boston's crust-hardcore kings DISRUPT. The legendary record, widely considered amongst the most extreme and influential hardcore grind albums in the early '90s, has been completely re-mastered and repackaged and will be released on April 3 (April 9 internationally). Along with "Unrest", Relapse will issue "The Rest", the first official collection of DISRUPT splits, demos, vinyl-only EPs and previously unreleased live recordings. "The Rest" clocks in at almost two hours in length, with 78 tracks over two discs spanning the band’s history from early demos to latter-day live recordings. Additionally, Relapse will issue an extremely limited, one-pressing-only DISRUPT box set, titled "DisruptDead". "DisruptDead" contains "Unrest", "The Rest", the first-ever DISRUPT DVD featuring four live shows, a 52-page booklet and more. "Unrest" and "The Rest" will be available in stores nationwide starting April 3 (April 9 internationally), while "DisruptDead" will only be available exclusively via Relapse.com. Finnish melodic metallers STRATOVARIUS have issued the following update:

"In two days we are entering Sonic Pump Studios [in Helsinki] to record our 12th album. Jörg [Michael, drums] is flying in tomorrow [Saturday, Feb. 24]. We are keeping you updated with blogs and podcasts and we try to set up the webcam for you by Tuesday so you can see us actually playing in the studio. Blogs and podcasts you will find at www.stratovarius.com.

"We don´t know when this album 'R....... R' [two-word title, with both words beginning with the letter 'R'] will come out at this point, but sure thing is that not this year. Of course we will let you know when we know anything concrete. In the meantime, [Timo Kotipelto, vocals] and [Timo Tolkki, guitar] will be quite busy so you won't get bored."

 IMMOLATION

Long-running New York death metallers IMMOLATION have uploaded a new track, entitled "World Agony", to their MySpace page. The song comes off the group's upcoming full-length album, "Shadows in the Light", due in April through Century Media and Listenable Records in the U.S. and Europe respectively.

It is a very complete record with soulful solos, thunderous raging drums and vocals that lash right out at you!"

IMMOLATION recorded "Shadows in the Light" and a separate EP, entitled "Hope and Horror", at Millbrook Sound Studios with producer Paul Orofino. The EP is accompanied by a DVD featuring an entire live set recorded last year at B.B. King Club & Grill in New York City. "The video work on this is amazing," says bassist/vocalist Ross Dolan. "The sound is raw, but you can make everything out really well. It really gets the live feel like your there!"

 PAIN

PAIN, the Swedish band led by HYPOCRISY mastermind Peter Tägtgren, has set "Psalms of Extinction" as the title of its fifth full-length album, due in the Nordic countries on April 18 via Roadrunner Records (May 7 in the rest of Europe). Guest musicians on the album include Mikkey Dee (MOTÖRHEAD, ex-DON DOKKEN, KING DIAMOND) on "Zombie Slam" (audio), CHILDREN OF BODOM frontman Alexi Laiho on the epic song "Just Think Again" (playing lead guitar), and Anders Iwers (IN FLAMES) on two songs (playing bass). A video for the song "Zombie Slam" will be shot in Los Angeles by Ralf Strathmann late February.

Ralf previously worked as a director for artists like CHILDREN OF BODOM, APOCALYPTICA and SOILWORK. He is also a photographer for such bands as H.I.M., AEROSMITH and BLINK 182, to name but a few. According to a press release, the upcoming CD will feature sharper production, "heavier guitars, massive string movements and even more in-your-face vocals."

PAIN originally signed to Universal (Stockholm Records) in 1999 where the band achieved substantial sales, backed up with European touring activities with IN FLAMES, TIAMAT, ATROCITY and THEATRE OF TRAGEDY, among others.

Since PAIN leader Peter Tägtgren appeared on the music scene back in the early Nineties he has been a most extraordinary artist and producer. Known as guitarist and frontman of the hard-working touring band HYPOCRISY, he has also built a career as a producer, having worked with such bands as CELTIC FROST, IMMORTAL, DESTRUCTION, DIMMU BORGIR, DARK FUNERAL, and MARDUK, among others. Tägtgren has also delivered scores and made cameo appearances in many Swedish hit films, including "Sleepwalker", "Nolltolerans" and "Exit".

PAIN's latest album, "Dancing with the Dead", debuted at position No. 3 on the Swedish album chart in January 2005. The follow-up to 2002's "Nothing Remains the Same" was released in continental Europe in March 2005.

SALEM will film their March 28 show at the Barbie club in Tel Aviv for a possible DVD/CD release. More information will be made available soon.

SALEM recently authorized the use of the band's new song "Idol Worship" — taken from the group's upcoming album, "Necessary Evil" — in a major TV campaign for a cellular phone company. Watch the commercial at YouTube.com.

SALEM recently inked a deal with France's Season of Mist. The group's new album, "Necessary Evil", is tentatively due this spring. According to the band, the new material is "modern, dark, highly unique" and "heavier" than their previous efforts.

 NEURAXIS

Montreal, Quebec's NEURAXIS has started an online tour diary documenting the band's experiences on their current trek across Europe. The Domination Tour 2007, featuring ROTTING CHRIST, MALEVOLENT CREATION, INCANTATION, NEURAXIS, and others, began on February 14 and will run until March 4. The tour diary is available via NEURAXIS' MySpace page. A live video clip of NEURAXIS performing on this current tour can be found at this location.

Dutch melodic death metallers CALLENISH CIRCLE have issued the following statement:

"After nearly 15 years we've decided to lay our precious CALLENISH CIRCLE to rest. We'll play our last show on Saturday the 10th of March at De Azijnfabriek in Roermond, The Netherlands. This wasn't the easiest decision to make, but in the end, we all agree that CALLENISH CIRCLE has now run its course. We've accomplished everything that we set out to do and even more but now the time has come to move on. We're all very proud of our latest album, '[Pitch.Black.Effects]', and feel that now is a good time to call it a day.

 PARADISE LOST

Nick talks about the new album                   06th Feb 2007

As the album recording process begins to close , and during a period where
people decide if they love or hate something you have just spend a year
painstakingly putting together, I have decided to compact some reflections
over the past few months.

As this is the bands 11th album, by the time we actually get into the
studio, we generally have a pretty good idea how the songs are going to
sound. Prior to actually recording, 2 weeks are usually spent intensively
rehearsing the songs, and maybe changing parts that didn't work during the
demo stages. Which, co-incidentally are written with a guitar, software and
the internet. None of us actually live near each other, so it's not always
the best recipe for "jamming" besides, who wants to play the same riff for 4
hours in a cold room full of blokes?

Generally I feel we were far more prepared than the last record,
particularly Jeff, with the last album he came in towards the last minute -
and didn't really get the opportunity to put his "stamp" on the drumming.
This time round I think you can really hear the difference, particularly as
we have replaced all his drumming with samples! Joke!

Recording and studio wise, it's always a real pleasure to go to Chapel
studios. Life goes in slow motion at the Chapel, and you find yourself
enjoying doing laundry, having afternoon naps, and sipping tea whilst
listening to Radio two, for the 2 weeks you are there. Steve, Aaron and Jeff
laid down the rhythm tracks whilst Greg and I did nothing more than arrange
a new song, and send each other verbal insults on messenger from our
adjacent bedrooms.

The second half of the album was recorded at the awesome Strait sound
studios in Gibson's, Vancouver. A beautiful part of the world without
question, but with appalling routing and overzealous Customs interrogation.
It took 35 hours to get from Leeds to our destination. The highlight of the
outgoing trip was in Heathrow Airport when I was lucky enough to sit next to
Pat Sharp from the 90's UK kids TV programme "Funhouse".yes the journey
really sucked.

Greg and I worked pretty relentlessly for 2 weeks here, so much so that
neither of us got the chance to see a real life" Samquanch" -the only real
minor niggle in an otherwise very productive recording experience. As I
type, the final tracks are being mixed or "forged" if you like to be cheesy,
in the very capable hands of Mike "Fraze" Frazer and they sound pretty
bloody good!

 PARADISE LOST

"We can confirm today that the title for the 11th Paradise Lost album,
tentatively due for release in May this year, is to be titled "In Requiem".

The artwork for the new album is to be done by Seth Siro Anton, who was the
artwork designer for the last album, "Paradise Lost".

The band recently returned from Canada following completion of recording the
new CD, produced by Rhys Fulber. The album has been mixed by Mike Fraser -
who is well known for his work with bands such as Metallica, AC/DC, Van
Halen etc... You can check out a comprehensive listing of the bands Mike has
worked with on his management's site.

The album is due to be mastered soon"
