 DARKMOON

"Finally we will enter the Little Creek Studio at the end of May to produce our second album for CCP Records. It will be named "Apocalyptic  Syndrome" . It will containe 10 songs between the borders of Death/Thrash and Black metal. So be ready for the apocalypse!!!
And we have a new gig to announce: Saturday June 16th we will play at the Gallery in Pratteln.This will be a warm- up- show for the Battle of Metal Festival in Geiselwind,  Germany .There some other bands will play too.  EPICA

Dutch female-fronted symphonic metal band EPICA has signed a deal with Nuclear Blast Records.

Formed by guitarist, vocalist and songwriter Mark Jansen (ex-AFTER FOREVER) in 2002, EPICA has so far released three albums, among them a full-length soundtrack in the vein of Hollywood composers Hans Zimmer and Danny Elfman. The Dutch metallers have already played in 24 countries, and have completed successful tours in Europe, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and the USA.

EPICA will embark on a North American headlining tour in September. Support at the shows will come from the Austrian/American "epic metal" band VISIONS OF ATLANTIS.

EPICA is currently recording its new album at Gate Studios in Wolfsburg, Germany. The CD, which is being produced by Sascha Paeth, will feature a session appearance by GOD DETHRONED drummer Ariën van Weesenbeek. EPICA has yet to name a full-time drummer following the departure of Jeroen Simons in 2006.

 MARILYN MANSON - TYPE O NEGATIVE

MARILYN MANSON and TYPE O NEGATIVE have been confirmed for the third concert scheduled to take place as part of this year's edition of the Arena Muzika Festival in Bulgaria. The two acts will perform at the Academic Stadium in Sofia on July 4.

Tickets for the show will go on sale on April 26 via TicketPro. Ticket prices vary from 20 to 50 leva (approx. from 10 to 25 euros).

 TURISAS

A medley of two brand new songs from TURISAS' upcoming "The Varangian Way" album — "To Holmgard and Beyond" and "A Portage to the Unknown" — have been posted online at the band's MySpace page.

"We definitely have high expectations lined up after the success of our debut album 'Battle Metal'," says vocalist and producer Warlord. "Quite often the second album is done in a rush and doesn’t live up to the standards of the debut. We took three years to get it right, and there's no doubt about it: 'The Varangian Way' tops 'Battle Metal' with such ease I almost feel sorry for our debut."

Another small detail that still emphasizes the uniqueness of "The Varangian Way" is the fact that all solos were played on an electric violin instead of a guitar — and there are many more tiny details that you will notice while listening to the album. Graphic artist, illustrator and designer John Coulthart (CRADLE OF FILTH; HAWKWIND; poster and cover art for spoken word albums by writer Alan Moore ["Watchmen", "V for Vendetta"]) did the stunning artwork for this special album that will give you further insight on the brave travelers' journey through the East.

"The Varangian Way" was recorded at Sound Supreme Studio and mixed and mastered at Finnvox Studio (NIGHTWISH, H.I.M., APOCALYPTICA).

 ABIGAIL WILLIAMS

Phoenix-based extreme metal band ABIGAIL WILLIAMS has called it quits. The group's official statement on the matter reads as follows:

"ABIGAIL WILLIAMS has decided to disband. It's no secret that the band has had more than its fair share of lineup problems and the time has now come to close the doors. The MySpace page will remain active and we'll continue to sell merchandise until we run out of stock.

"ABIGAIL WILLIAMS released their debut EP, 'Legend', via Candlelight Records earlier this year and it is currently available in stores everywhere. Thanks to everyone at Candlelight who believed in this band and every fan who has supported our music"

The German Label VIVA HATE RECORDS officially signs LONG DISTANCE CALLING. Already the demo CD "Dmnstrtn" of this highly talented post rock band got demo of the month in magazines like in example "Rock Hard Germany" and Germanys most important alternative magazine "Visions".

Statement:
 
"Ich kann den Dauerstress (durch Touren, Konzerte, dem Trubel rund um das Musikgeschäft und auch um meine Person) nicht mehr mit meinem "normalen" Leben und meiner Zukunft vereinbaren."
Er zitiert in diesem Bezug momentan gerne seine Kollegen von "The Strokes" mit: "I wanna be forgotten and I don´t wanna be reminded."

Christopher möchte jedoch auf keinen Fall sein Mikrofon an den Nagel hängen, ohne allen Fans von Lacrimas Profundere seine höchste Wertschätzung auszusprechen und sich für all das vergossene Herzblut der letzten Jahre zu bedanken.

Die komplette Band bedauert seine Entscheidung, freut sich jedoch, dass sich Christopher nicht ganz aus dem Musikgeschäft zurückzieht und der Band als Texter und Songwriter nach wie vor erhalten bleibt! Der "LACRIMAS-Sound" wird sich also nicht verändern, da die Brüder Oliver und Christopher wie bisher zusammenarbeiten, und Christopher auch auf dem nächsten Album einige Gesangspassagen beisteuert!

In Berlin beim Dark eastern Festival wird somit erstmals Peter Kafka (ex Fiddlers green, beloved enemy, big boy) mit der Band auf der Bühne stehen und auch bei der Autogrammstunde am 08.04. zwischen 22.00 Uhr und 22.30 Uhr im Kesselhaus in Berlin mit den Jungs JEDEN Autogrammwunsch erfüllen! SEE YOU THERE!!!

In this case he often quotes his collegues of the "Strokes" with: "I wanna be forgotten and I don´t wanna be reminded."

Christopher doesn´t want to leave the stage without saying "thank you" to all the fans of Lacrimas Profundere for all the brilliant years of "Rock´n´sad".

The complete Band does regret his decision but also feels pretty happy about the fact that Christopher will be with Lacrimas Profundere as a lyricist and songwriter. The "LACRIMAS sound" will not change, because the brothers Oliver and Christopher will co-operate as before, and Christopher will put some vocallines on the next album too! The next gig in Berlin "Peter Kafka" will rock together with the band! Watch the gig and meet him and the band at the autograph hour between 22.00 and 22.30 C.E.T. in Berlin Kesselhaus!

OBSIDIAN SIGNS AT RCR

RCR is very glad to announce another great addition to our roster: OBSIDIAN. This band creates technical metal with an awesome sound and vibe, which can be heard on their debut album "Emerging" at the end of May. The vocals on this album, which was self-released in a very small number last year, will be recorded again by new singer Robbe K (also vocalist of the band Disavowed).

The final mixing will be done again by Jochem Jacobs, who you already know for his great job at Cypher's Darkday Carnival and soon at Magnacult's debut album Synoré.

Check out the reviews already written about their first version of "Emerging" at their website and you know this is another Dutch band which will become a band to keep in mind.

DEFENDER LIVE IN GERMANY AND GREECE

For the first time ever Dutch Metal Cult band "Defender" will hit some stages in Europe. All gigs will be played with 3 line-ups, so everybody can see all Defender members in action and has the opportunity to meet them! After these shows the guys will enter the studio again to finish their new album.

The first one will be at the "Keep It True" festival at 14-04-2007 in Lauda-Königshofen, Germany.
The second one will be a headlining show at the "Up The Hammers" festival at 21-04-2007 in Athens, Greece.

We also want to update you with the new official Defender website. Instead of the .com url it will be: www.defender.nl in the future. Check it out, because the guys will also do some shows with "Diamond Head" later this year.

LION'S SHARE Signs With AFM RECORDS 

After four successful albums and several tours with bands like MANOWAR, DIO, MOTÖRHEAD, SAXON, U.D.O., ICED EARTH and NEVERMORE, Swedish heavy metal masters LION'S SHARE are back with their long-awaited comeback masterpiece, "Emotional Coma", due out on June 15 in Europe through AFM Records. The band features guitar player and founding member Lars Chriss, along with vocalist Patrik Johansson (ASTRAL DOORS, WUTHERING HEIGHTS), bass player Sampo Axelsson (GLENN HUGHES) and well-known session drummer Richard Evensand (CHIMAIRA, SOILWORK, THERION).

DIMMU BORGIR tour europeo confermato

Il nuovo album dei DIMMU BORGIR, intitolato 'In Sorte Diaboli' (Nuclear Blast/Audioglobe) uscirà il 30 Aprile e la band sarà impegnata nei maggiori festival estivi, compreso il Gods Of Metal nella giornata del 3 Giugno, per gran parte dell'estate. Nel frattempo però è stato confermato anche il tour europeo autunnale, nel quale DIMMU BORGIR saranno ovviamente gli headliner di un package che si preannuncia imperdibile. Il nome del tour sarà 'The Invaluable Darkness Tour 2007' e lo special guest già confermato saranno i grandi AMON AMARTH. A breve verrà confermata anche la terza band che ricoprirà il ruolo di opening act. Il tour toccherà l'Italia per un'unica data nel mese di Ottobre.

Anders Manga will be headlining Anne Rice's Vampire Lestat Ball this Halloween in New Orleans, LA. This now legendary annual party will take over the Howlin' Wolf (907 S. Peters, New Orleans) for the night of Friday, Oct. 26, 2007. Also on the bill is the haunting music of Paul Mercer and his Ghost Project trio & Analog Missionary. The theme for this year's party will be "The Witching Hour".

"I think this party is going to make history as one that will be talked about for years to come! The new era of the Vampire Lestat fan club has begun. Where we go from here is unlimited," said fan club president, Sue Quiroz.

Anne Rice's Vampire Lestat Fan Club was established in 1988 and stayed active until it dissolved in 2000 (for numerous reasons); at that point there were thousands of members, all over the world.

In 2006, several former/key members of the ARVLFC got in touch with each other thanks to the internet. Old times were reminisced, the future was discussed, and they all realized how much they missed it. Anne was approached about resurrecting the ARVLFC and, in response to her fans' undying devotion, and in order to help a struggling post-Katrina New Orleans, Anne gave her consent for the ARVLFC to reform.

If you are making plans to attend this year's party be aware that there will be more events planned, a wine tasting event on Thursday, Oct. 25th, and more surprises in the works for Saturday.....be sure to sign up for membership in the Anne Rice's Vampire Lestat Fan Club as members will have first dibs on the coveted tickets.
