 MALEVOLENT CREATION

A brand new MALEVOLENT CREATION track, entitled "Deliver My Enemy", has been posted on the MySpace page of the group's drummer, Dave Culross. The song comes off the veteran Florida-based extreme metallers' new album, "Doomsday X", due in Europe on August 24 via Massacre Records. The CD was recorded and engineered at Mercury Recording Studios in Pompano Beach, Florida by longtime friend and producer (and sometimes session member) Gus Rios, and is said to be the most diverse MALEVOLENT CREATION album recorded to date and "without a doubt their fastest!!"

 SCARS

Brazilian thrashers SCARS have announced the addition of bassist Pedro Carvalho to the group's ranks. The band's current lineup is as follows:

André Guilger (guitar, vocals)
Alex Nasser (drums)
Pedro Carvalho (bass)

SCARS is currently in the studio working on its new CD and will not be playing any shows until album is released later this year.

SCARS' last released was "The Nether Hell" EP, which came out in 2005. The CD featured a lyrical concept based on "The Divine Comedy" by Dante Alighieri (same book that SEPULTURA's "Dante XXI" was inspired by). The EP's musical direction was previously described in a press release as "furious thrash metal and some death metal influence."

 THIN LIZZY

THIN LIZZY has cancelled its previously announced appearance at the the Graspop Metal Meeting, set to take place June 22-24 in Dessel, Belgium. No reason was given for the cancellation.

THIN LIZZY and QUEENSRŸCHE will team up for a U.K. tour this fall.

THIN LIZZY's current lineup includes vocalist/guitarist John Sykes, guitarist Scott Gorham, bassist Marco Mendoza and drummer Tommy Aldridge. The band in 2006 commemorated the 20th year since THIN LIZZY mainman Phil Lynott's passing by dedicating and performing 20 dates in remembrance of their late frontman. Dubbed the "20/20 Tour", the trek saw the band hammering out all of the greatest hits and a few rarities.

 

 

 THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN recently entered the studio with producer Steve Evetts (SAVES THE DAY, EARTH CRISIS, SEPULTURA) to begin recording its new album for a late 2007 release. The upcoming CD will feature the drumming of STOLEN BABIES' Gil Sharone following the departure of Chris Pennie (he now plays drums with COHEED AND CAMBRIA).

Commented the band: "Holy shit, Gil is a fucking animal. Seriously, it's ridiculous. There have been so many times when he has been playing and we just laugh because the shit he's doing is so out of control. You know when someone is so good at something you can't do anything but laugh? Well, Gil is cracking us up. This guy is a SAVAGE. Drum tones sound monstrous, Steve Evetts is getting sounds Bonzo would rise from the grave for. We can't wait for you all to hear this."

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN will hit the road beginning in September. More information will be made available soon.

 

 

 IMMOLATION

Legendary New York death metallers IMMOLATION will team up with Polish unholy deathsters AZARATH and DEIVOS for a four-date Polish tour in August. The two support acts are also currently promoting their newest, highly acclaimed studio albums "Diabolic Impious Evil" (out on Pagan Records) and "Emanation From Below" (available via Empire Records), respectively. Confirmed dates are as follows:

 LINKIN PARK

Further solidifying its place as one the world's leading rock acts, LINKIN PARK's third studio release, "Minutes to Midnight", has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for sales exceeding 1 million copies in the U.S. in just 4 weeks. "Minutes to Midnight" debuted at #1 and sold 623,996 copies in its first week alone, making it the highest debut of the year. "It's not a stretch to say that they could be the biggest act on the planet," says James Montgomery of MTV.

"Minutes To Midnight" has already shipped over 3.3 million worldwide. The album has reached #1 in 32 countries and is certified platinum in 16 countries.

 DARKTHRONE

Norwegian black metallers DARKTHRONE have issued the following update:

"Finally! 18 months after the first recordings for the new album, DARKTHRONE is done. End of July will see the release of the new EP 'NWOBHM' (New Wave Of Black Heavy Metal). This EP contains four songs on CD version, and two songs on the 7" vinyl version. There is one new exclusive song on both versions called 'Hedninger Fra Helvete' (Heathens From Hell). The TESTORS cover song 'Bad Attitude' is added on the CD version.

"CD contains in this order: 'Wisdom Of The Dead' (a different recording than the version on the album), 'Canadian Metal' (same recording as the album version, but different vocals added), 'Hedninger Fra Helvete' (exclusive new song for this EP) and 'Bad Attitude' (cover song of American TESTORS). Vinyl version contains 'Hedninger Fra Helvete' and 'Canadian Metal'.

"The new album is called 'F.O.A.D.' and will be released in September."

 DARKAGER

The power/thrash metal band DARKAGER is recording their debut cd in Fusão VM&T Studios, and it is being produced by Thiago Bianchi, vocalist of Shaman and Karma. Thiago already worked with known Brazilian rock and metal bands like Angra, Shaman, Tuatha de Danann, and the guitarist Edu Ardanuy (Dr. Sin).

 

The new album, still untitled, will have ten songs, and the recordings will be finished in the second half of this year.

 

Meanwhile fans can check Darkager's demo, Bells of Doom, released last year, still with the old line-up. The demo is available in MySpace through the address www.myspace.com/darkagerband

 TAPPING THE VEIN

World Management would like to announce that Tapping The Vein will be mixing
their upcoming release, for Nuclear Blast, with Neil Kernon, at RaxTrax in
Chicago, Il. starting July 14th 2007. "We're very excited to be working with
Neil on this. Time and time again, on tour, we were told we sound much
better live. I'd have to agree the band is heavier and more powerful live. I
think we were able to capture that this time around with Neil." says drummer
Eric Fisher. TTV took a new approach to the writing of this album and I am
really pleased with the result. I think we've managed to streamline and
"pump it up", so to speak, without sacrificing any of the emotional impact

 DISBELIEF

German death metal band DISBELIEF will support Brazilian thrashers SEPULTURA on August 2 at the Live Music Hall in Cologne, Germany.

DISBELIEF's seventh album, "Navigator", was released on February 26 via Massacre Records. The CD was recorded at MX studio in Buchen, Germany with producer Michael Mainx. A video for the title cut was also shot.

DISBELIEF re-signed with Massacre Records after issuing their last CD, "66 Sick" (2005), through Nuclear Blast Records.

 

 

 NECROMANTIA

Greek black metal pioneers NECROMANTIA have inked a deal with Dockyard 1. The group is currently working on its new album, "The Sound of Lucifer Blasting Heaven", for a November release.

Says the band: "Be prepared for a mix of harsh black metal, dark orchestrations and ritualistic parts the NECROMANTIA way! You have been warned!"

Formed in 1989, NECROMANTIA was at the forefront of the second wave of black metal alongside DARKTHRONE, EMPEROR, SAMAEL, ENSLAVED, IMPALED NAZARENE, ROTTING CHRIST and BURZUM, among others. Their unique music style and dedication to the "black arts" established them as one of the leading bands from southern Europe along with their countrymates ROTTING CHRIST.

 DE LIRIUM'S ORDER

Finnish technical death metal freaks De Lirium's Order are finished with
their second album, entitled Diagnosis. This slab of ruthless brutality
was recorded at the notorious Studio Perkele (Deathchain, Shade Empire,
Barathrum etc) and features ten tracks nine are De Lirium originals and a
furious cover of the Carcass classic Incarnated Solvent Abuse.

The track listing for the album is this:

 NECRODEATH

Italian black/thrash metal heroes NECRODEATH will release a new album, "Draculea", in October via Scarlet Records.

Commented drummer Peso: "Immediately after the recording sessions for '100% Hell' [2006] I began composing some new material, but it was in November 2006 that I realized that NECRODEATH had to come back with a new record, some new material capable to improve our sound without losing our typical trademark. That's why I had the idea to write a concept based on Vlad Tepes' life, finding the inspiration on some books I've been reading recently. Every song will have its particular meaning and there will be a wide range of influences upon this new record. Pier from LABYRINTH will be handling the guitar duties, with us being still in search for a permanent guitar player, and, of course, this means that the whole record will be influenced by Pier's extraordinary style, with lots of great solos, for the first time in the band's career. Flegias and John are also putting a lot of efforts in this record, you can be sure that everybody will notice that."

NECRODEATH's sixth studio album, "100% Hate" was recorded at Outer Sound studios in Rome and features a guest appearance by VENOM frontman Conrad" Cronos" Lant.

 

 SEPULTURA

Brazilian thrashers SEPULTURA have been confirmed for the SenglaRock 2007 festival, set to take place June 28-30 in Lleida, Cataluña. SEPULTURA will perform on June 30.

A good-quality video clip of SEPULTURA performing the song "Convicted in Life" live in Luxembourg during the band's last European tour has been posted at YouTube.

As previously reported, a rare video clip of SEPULTURA and the Brazilian kings of hardcore RATOS DE PORÃO performing a cover of RAMONES' "I'm Not Jesus" on the Brazilian TV show "TVMix" in 1990 has been posted online at this location.

SEPULTURA will embark on another European tour beginning late June.

All That Remains Confirms Mexico shows

 

All That Remains have confirmed a set of dates upon which the band will make its first appearance in Mexico . Prior to the band departing for a European trek, including an appearance at Wacken: Open Air in August, All That Remains will play four shows in Mexico after touring through Canada with Protest The Hero, as well as appear on a Sounds of the Underground date in New Jersey.

Electronic/industrial-rock icons SKINNY PUPPY have announced they will return to the road this May with a brand new live show in support of their 13th album, 'Mythmaker' (SPV/Steamhammer).

The tour will kick off with a headlining performance slot at the Convergence 13 Festival May 25 at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, OR.
