REQUIEM

Swiss death metallers REQUIEM have completed work on their new album, "Infiltrate... Obliterate... Dominate", at Stage One studio in Borgentreich, Germany with producer Andy Classen (LEGION OF THE DAMNED, DEW-SCENTED, TANKARD, HOLY MOSES, DISBELIEF, KRISIUN, CALLENISH CIRCLE). The follow-up to 2007's "Premier Killing League" was recorded and mixed between December 8 and December 26 and features 11 tracks with "some musical and lyrical surprises." The artwork was created by Thomas Ewerhard, who has previously worked with suchs bands as HAMMERFALL, KATAKLYSM, DESTRUCTION, DARKANE, DISBELIEF, GRAVEWORM and IMPIOUS.

DARK MOOR

Madrid, Spain-based power metallers DARK MOOR have parted ways with bassist Daniel Fernández. He explained in a statement, "In the last few months, my head was not with DARK MOOR and this situation could have been damaging for the band and for my personal relation with Alfred [Romero, vocals], Enrik [Garcia, guitar] and Roberto [Cappa, drums] in a near future. Therefore after some conversations with the guys I have made this decision, which I think is the right thing to do.

"I have spent almost five years in the family, almost five years in which I do not regret of anything, in which I have learned to be a good professional, both in studio and stage, in which I have recorded three works of art ('Beyond The Sea', 'Tarot' and 'Autumnal'), in which I have shared lots of memories with the guys, good and bad, in which I have met lots of good and bad people. Five years of concerts in which I worked my fingers to the bone in order that YOU, the fans, could enjoy DARK MOOR."

He added, "I will keep playing with INNTRANCE, my main band from this moment, in which I will give 100%."

DARK MOOR recently posted a new song, "On The Hill Of Dreams", on tHE band's MySpace page.

WOLF

Swedish heavy metallers WOLF have issued the following update:

"We've been getting a lot of emails and questions regarding us touring with METALLICA and we'd like to spread a bit of light regarding the matter.

"First; we're NOT touring with METALLICA. This was a rumor that started in Sweden and we thought nothing of it since we've heard nothing from our booking agencies. Then we started getting congratulations from all over the world and we started looking into it. We couldn't find any truth or base in the matter so we decided to drop it.

"Now, since we wrote our '2008 list' (where we mentioned this) on our MySpace, we start getting emails again. We like to thank everyone who writes us and that are looking forward to see us tour, but we're NOT touring with METALLICA. We ARE, however, looking at possible tour options for the 'Ravenous' album tour, and we hope that we're able to get as close as we can to you all on the next tour."

The cover artwork for "We Came With The Northern Winds - En Saga I Belgia", the new double DVD from LEAVES' EYES — the German/Norwegian band formed by ex-THEATRE OF TRAGEDY singer Liv Kristine Espenaes Krull and members of ATROCITY — can be viewed below. Due on February 27, 2009 via Napalm Records, the set "will have a total playing time of approximately six hours," according to a press release. "The first disc comprises 'We Came With The Northern Winds', a band documentary with a running time of two hours. The movie highlights the band's career and offers fans an exclusive and intimate glimpse into the world of LEAVES' EYES, as well as presenting the viewer with impressions of past tours (222 concerts spanning over four continents and 34 countries). The second disc documents LEAVES' EYES' memorable headlining gig on October 20, 2007 at the Metal Female Voices Fest in Wieze, Belgium. The show featured the legendary Viking longboat stage set, as well as a setlist full of fan favorites. The package also delivers a double audio CD of the show as a special bonus."

PRO-PAIN

Florida-based hardcore/metal veterans PRO-PAIN have added drummer Rick Halverson to their lineup. Rick is best known for his work with Omaha thrashers NARCOTIC SELF, STEPHEN PEARCY (RATT) and the power metal group CELLADOR.

Halverson states: "PRO-PAIN is a phenomenal band to be working with. I'm really down with the integrity that the band carries and the work ethic of Gary, Tom, and Marshall. It's really going to be something to behold when we come out firing!"

PRO-PAIN singer/bassist Gary Meskil adds: "We are thrilled to have Rick on board with us. He is a multi talented musician and a great guy, and we are extremely looking forward to working together with him onstage and in the recording studio. Speaking on behalf of the entire band, we would like to thank the many drummers who auditioned and or submitted their material to us over the course of the past several weeks."

CHIMAIRA

Cleveland's CHIMAIRA has set "The Infection" as the title of the band's new album, due in North America on April 21, 2009 via Ferret Music. CHIMAIRA is still looking for label to release the new album in territories outside North America (the group is no longer signed to Nuclear Blast, which released "Resurrection" in Europe). The CD was recorded in Cleveland with producer Ben Schigel.

CHIMAIRA vocalist Mark Hunter previously stated about the recording process for the upcoming album, "I intentionally came into the studio without one lyric or vocal idea. The majority of the songs written for this record were written on the fly by us jamming in the bus. Two hours later we had a song. After touring we continued that spontaneous style of writing and it was an amazing feeling feeding off of each other's ideas and just seeing where the riffs would take us. I feel this is CHIMAIRA in its purest and most vulnerable form. I felt that I wanted to harness that same raw talent on the microphone as well. I basically freestyle over a song, find patterns I like or words I might say and then build from there. I construct the lyrics and then go in to track it. After that I sit on it for a day, and then come back and fix things here and there. I've done this method in the past with songs like 'Power Trip', 'Severed', 'Paralyzed', 'Down Again', 'Pure Hatred', etc. so it's not a new thing for me. But to do an entire record like this, that's a first."

CHIMAIRA will play its ninth annual Christmas show on December 30 at the House of Blues in the band's hometown.

Audio samples of all 10 tracks that appear on KREATOR's new album, "Hordes of Chaos", are available at the JPC.de web site.

KREATOR will release "Hordes Of Chaos" in Europe on January 19, 2009 via SPV Records (except in Germany, where it will be issued on January 16). The CD will arrive in the U.S. on January 13.

The new album will be available in three different versions. The jewel case edition includes the ten regular album songs, and the deluxe version features an additional bonus DVD with an atmospheric making-of in super-8 quality courtesy of a Berlin filmmaker. As a third option, the ultra-deluxe version comes with a t-shirt, a worthwhile photo book and an extended version of the bonus DVD, as well as the CD.

The "Hordes Of Chaos" artwork was created once again by Joachim Luetke. Luetke designed the artwork for KREATOR's last album, "Enemy Of God", as well as past releases from bands like DIMMU BORGIR, ARCH ENEMY and RAGE.

WEHRMACHT

Reactivated late 1980s Portland, Oregon-based thrash metal/hardcore band WEHRMACHT has issued the following update:

"For the last two months, Marco Zorich [guitar], Shann Mortimer [bass], Tito 'Mezzy' Matos [vocals], Brian Lehfeldt [drums] and myself, John Duffy [guitar], have begun rehearsing all the old WEHRMACHT material and are booking shows for the beginning of the year. Yes, it's actually all five original members. Unbelievable!!! I honestly have to say that we sound even heavier and just as fast as in the old days and the material is coming along well. We haven't played together since '91, so it was a little rusty at first.

In the mid-'80s when most west coast metal bands in America were copying either METALLICA or MÖTLEY CRÜE, WEHRMACHT had a different approach which set them apart! By 1986 the band's self-distributed demo cassette and an appearance on the "Speed Metal Hell" compilation series had gained the group considerable acclaim in the metal underground. Music publications such as England's Metal Forces and the Netherlands' Aardschok were among many to praise WEHRMACHT's original sound.

In 1987, New Renaissance Records released WEHRMACHT's debut album entitled "Shark Attack". Although "Shark Attack" was well received by the metal underground, until 1999, it was never available in America on compact disc.

After "Shark Attack", the band set out to record their second album. That album, "Biermacht", was released in spring of 1988 on CD, LP, and cassette. Despite substantial pre-orders for "Biermacht", many record shops and distributors returned the products to the record company after discovering a song entitled "Suck My Dick" was listed on the album's cover. Many distributors also complained about the cover artwork.

Finnish melodic death metal band ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW has finished recording a new single and is now waiting for it to be mixed and mastered. According to the band, "The name of the single will be revealed later as well as the names of the songs on it. Let's just say we haven't recorded any cover songs this year and probably won't be recording any of those next year either."

ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW recently inked a new deal with the Finnish label KHY Suomen Musiikki Oy. The group is currently recording its sixth album, which is tentatively expected in April 2009. As was the case with the band's previous five LPs, the forthcoming effort is being recorded at Tico-Tico Studio in Kemi, Finland. The as-yet-untitled CD has already been licenced to Massacre Records (which will be release the album in Europe excluding Finland) and Marquee/Avalon (which will make the record available in Asia).

ELIS

Vocalist Michelle Darkness of South German melancholics END OF GREEN makes a guest appearance on the new album from Liechtenstein-based gothic metallers ELIS, entitled "Catharsis".

Commented ELIS singer Sandra Schleret: "During the vocal pre-production of 'Warrior's Tale', I always was thinking of a sad, fragile, though very strong, low-pitched voice, to give the lyrics the right feeling to unfold their meaning. When I was visiting our producer Alex Krull some weeks ago, we talked about that it would be great to do the song as a duet. When we were thinking about who would have such a special voice, Michelle was our first choice. We asked him, and fortunately he told us that he would like to do the song. Recording with him was great fun, he gave a lot of power and profundity to the lines. We all are very excited about the result, and happy that we found the right man for it."

"Catharsis" is scheduled for release in early 2009 via Napalm Records. The follow-up to 2006's "Griefshire" was recorded at Mastersound Studio in Germany with producer Alex Krull (ATROCITY, LEAVES' EYES) and marks the band's first full-length recording with Sandra Schleret, who joined ELIS in December 2006.

After completing the work on the Above material, S A M A E L decided
that "Above" will no longer be a project but the title of their new
album. Recently asked about the album, this is what Vorph had to say:

"After 20 years we've tried to do an album that would represent what
S A M A E L is all about and we did "Solar Soul". We feel now it is
the right time to remember the people where we come from and that's
exactly what "Above" will do. It is like an enhanced version of our
three or four first albums, maybe the missing link between "Cermony Of
Opposites" and "Passage". With the "Era One" project we've tried to
work on different influences, with "Above" we striped everything down.
It is a metal album through and through."

The album release is set for winter 2009!

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER

Vocalist Trevor Strnad of the Michigan-based melodic death metal band THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER has issued the following update:

"On the eve of our December tour with friends MISERY INDEX and SOILENT GREEN, we in THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER are faced with a heartbreaking dilemma: John [Kempainen; guitar] has abruptly left the fold and refuses to accompany us on the tour. We are left with no choice but to carry on with the dates as a four-piece. The remaining members of the band apologize for these unprofessional circumstances, but we feel that it is best to go through with the tour and not disappoint the other bands as well as the fans who are looking forward to these shows. Please come out and show some BLACK DAHLIA love in our hour of need."

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER's tour with MISERY INDEX and SOILENT GREEN is scheduled to kick off on December 1 in Iowa City, Iowa.

KATAKLYSM singer Maurizio Iacono previously stated about the decision to shoot a video for "Blood in Heaven": "A while back ago we made the decision to have the title track [of our new album] 'Prevail' be the next video clip. After carefully thinking it over, we have now decided to go with our original plan and shoot the video for 'Blood in Heaven'. Lots of fans have been asking us to do a clip for that song so we decided, 'why not, it's all about the fans anyways!' Besides, 'Prevail' is already a massive live song and doesn't need any more of a push. There are other gems on this album that we want to introduce so here it goes!"

Keyboardist Henrik "Lance" Klingenberg of the Finnish melodic metal band SONATA ARCTICA has issued the following update:

"Tomorrow is the last show of the European tour. I think we've all been surprised about the great turnout. After all, this was the second headlining tour with this album ('Unia'). Somehow these last days have gone by pretty fast and before we know it we're gonna be in Russia and then that's it... for now.

"I won't go into any extensive comments about the upcoming album, mainly because nobody knows how it will sound at this point, and the few songs I've heard by Tony [Kakko, vocals] can't paint the whole picture. It's gonna be really interesting to work with [new guitarist] Elias [Viljanen] in the studio and I'm sure we'll come up with something great.

"During the two months (December-January) when Tony is writing songs, I'll be playing the keyboards for Elias' new solo album, and in the spring we hopefully can play some shows in Finland."

HATESPHERE

The HATESPHERE song "Let Them Hate", off the Danish band's latest album, "Serpent Smiles And Killer Eyes", is featured in the new Danish motion picture "Lille Soldat", in theatres now. Trailers for the movie can be found at this location. The band says, "if anyone should decide to go see it they're gonna have to sit through the whole thing, as we're on during the end credits. It's supposedly a really good movie, so, needless to say, we are excited to be a part of it."

Norwegian bands KAMPFAR and VREID will team up for a co-headlining European tour, dubbed A Skogstur In Central Europe 2009, in February. Support on the trek will come from ISKLAD.

Floridian black metallers KULT OV AZAZEL have posted their cover version of BLACK FLAG's "My War" at this location.

Commented the band: "It may seem strange that we would cover a BLACK FLAG song to many. The truth of the matter is it has been no secret that Xaphan and Hammer are both fans of old '80s punk and hardcore and to some extent even Xul. Xaphan has bore the BLACK FLAG symbol on his wrist for 18 years. So out of honor for BLACK FLAG we decided to bang out a cover of 'My War' while we were recording the new album. So here it is, our homage to one of the greatest punk bands to exist!"

KULT OV AZAZEL recently posted a new song called "Conquer & Decimate" on its MySpace page. The track will appear on the band's next studio album, "Destroying the Sacred", which will be released in early 2009.

"Destroying the Sacred" wasrecorded at Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida between October 28 and November 11. The track listing for the effort is as follows:

Am 23. Januar (UK: 26. Januar) 2009 veröffentlichen die deutschen Alternative-Rocker (Rock, Gothic, …..)

THE PUSSYBATS ihr langerwartetes Debütalbum „Famous Last Songs“ weltweit via

Black Rain Records. Produziert wurde es von Chai Deveraux (bekannt als Gitarrist von

JESUS ON EXTASY) sowie dem Duo Hahn&Hahn (unter anderem NENA, KIM

WILDE, FARMER BOYS).

Direkt im Gründungsjahr 2006 gewannen THE PUSSYBATS einen der größten

Underground-Nachwuchswettbewerbe Europas (Sonic Seducer „ Battle Of The Bands“)

und erspielten sich auf zahlreichen Konzerten und Festivals zusammen mit Bands wie

SUBWAY TO SALLY, THE 69 EYES, FRONT 242 und JESUS ON EXTASY eine stetig

wachsende Fangemeinde. Die erste Single "No Romeo" erschien bereits im Sommer

2008 und machte Appetit auf mehr. In der Karriere der jungen Band markiert das

Album einen weiteren Meilenstein. Dementsprechend wurde auch viel Aufwand und

Herzblut in die Produktion gesteckt – unter anderem sind ein klassischer Kontrabass

und mit LEANDRA eine Gastsängerin und Pianistin zu hören. Die Songs sind

abwechslungsreich, zwischen hart und romantisch, jedoch stets einer klaren Linie

folgend - Emotion statt Verstand, Eingängigkeit statt künstlicher Komplexität,

THE PUSSYBATS to release debut album on January 23rd

On January 23rd ( UK : January 26th), 2009, German alternative rockers (Rock, Gothic, …)

THE PUSSYBATS are to release their long-awaited debut album "Famous Last Songs“

worldwide via Black Rain Records. It has been produced by Chai Deveraux (known as

the guitarist of the industrial-glam-rock-band JESUS ON EXTASY) and Hahn&Hahn, a

team which has already worked with acts like NENA, KIM WILDE and the FARMER

BOYS.

Founded in 2006, the band soon won one of Europe 's biggest underground newcomer

contests (Sonic Seducer „Battle Of The Bands“), played with the likes of THE 69 EYES,

FRONT 242 or SUBWAY TO SALLY on numerous festivals and shows all over Europe

and gathered a constantly growing fanbase. After the deal with Black Rain Records and

the release of the first single "No Romeo“ in summer 2008, the four guys went straight

into the studio to go for another milestone in their young musical career: recording a

full-length album. In this effect a lot of heart, soul, sweat and tears have been put into

every aspect of the production. "The Most Beautiful Tales End Sadly“, for example,

features not only a contrabass, but also a guest pianist and vocalist, LEANDRA. The

songs as a whole are diverse – in between a goodbye kiss and a kick in the ass - but also

follow a clear, straight line: emotions instead of academics, catchiness, rock'n'roll

instead of arty gimmicks. Or, as the band themselves put it: "And even if we'd been

struck by lightning the very next day, we'd have known that we'd put everything into

that record we'd had to offer and left a legacy to be proud of! These could indeed be

our 'Famous Last Songs'.“

On October 1988 S A M A E L released their auto produced 7" EP
"Medieval Prophecy". 20 years later an official and strictly limited
edition is now available on CD.

It contains all demos and rehearsals recordings prior to "Worship Him".
Fully re-mastered and limited at 1'200 numerated copies, it comes as a
deluxe digipack with rare graphics and liner notes and is only

Blistering Records is proud to announce the introduction and subsequent
launch of their online webstore. The webstore can be accessed now by going

will initially feature the label's own "U.S. only" line of CDs which
